I live in New Jersey and the biometrics app is in Hackensack. I have never been in that USCIS center , I always went to Elizabeth or Newark.

Thanks! Considering the processing centers in New Jersey are somewhat backlogged the 7 months estimated completion of your application is very good.

Best...

Ouch!  Looks like it effects 3 people on the spreadsheet in this thread.

Only 2 actually. I rescheduled mine prior to the executive order because I'm done in Florida for the holidays.

The ASC tab in that link says "all ASC's will be closed on December 2th per the executive order". The field office tab shows as open. I guess will find out tomorrow.

It really has nothing to do with eligibility but really depends on the waiting time.

I waited until my letter showed up in the Documents tab online then printed it off and took it with me closer to their closing time. Early morning is chaos because everyone is there and it's crowded so there's a long wait. Afternoon time is pretty chill because it was empty and I was seen right away after filling out the AIW form.

Only question asked was why I couldn't keep my original appt, told them I may not have child care so was hoping to be seen that day. In and out in 30 mins. :)

Yes, you can take someone with you.

Awesome thank you! Do you recommend i call the USCIS office prior to going there or just walk in around closing time? I might not have childcare then too because my dad who currently watches my son will be leaving to go home soon. Also my husband is currently on leave and goes back to work first week of 2020. Also what is AIW? I think last time i had my biometrics appointment i only needed to bring the biometrics letter and my green card.

If you call, they will likely tell you not to come.  Suggest you just try to walk in.  But really, January 9 is so close, you would not be saving much time.

You don't need to call because some confused agent may cancel your current appointment and you don't want that.

AIW means Applicant Information Worksheet which is basic info about you (height, weight, hair color, eye color, etc.)

I'd say IF you have free time, go ahead and try for an afternoon walk in. The letter tells you exactly what you need to take with you (appt letter, green card, picture ID).
