Hi,

Thanks so much for the information. Sorry I was not clear earlier, I am the US petitioner for my fiancé. I currently have a job that pays well above the federal poverty level and can also show liquid assets 3x the amount of the required income level at this time. My biggest worry is that for the past two years I was studying in México, and did not file income taxes those past two years as I did not have any taxable income in the US. I already have the proof of income from my current employer, pay stubs since January (when I started working again after returning from my master’s), and bank statements, but will lack of W2 forms somehow cause a problem for my fiancé when he goes for the interview or would a letter stating I was studying a master's program abroad and had no taxable income in those past 2 years suffice for any doubts during the application process? OR is it most helpful to just have a sponsor in my back pocket for any potential problems? I only ask because the sponsor seems like a lot to ask from a family member or friend and I want to make sure it is necessary before doing so.

Thanks
