USC Filing I-130 from South Dakota

Please people, am a USC resident in South Dakota filed I-130 for my brother. South Dakota is supposed to be covered by

Nebraska Service Center but my petition was sent to California Service Center. After initial submission, California Service Center

sent me Notice of Action and the receipt for my petition, and from the research i made, California Service Center takes over 

90 months to process I-130 while Nebraska takes between 12 and 15 months to process. What can I do to have my petition 

transferred to Nebraska Service Center which has jurisdiction over my State of residence? Will appreciate your help

Unfortunately, you cannot request a 'transfer.'  Petitions are not assigned to service centers based on where the petitioner lives.

Service Centers process applications across the country. They are not based on region.

Family preference categories are generally sent to CSC.

The 90 months for processing won't be an issue since the wait for F4 to become current is over 90 months. Even if they approved it today, the visa would not be issued a day sooner. (Edit: and a quick approval can mean children will age out).

USCIS does not transfer petitions upon request.

Edit: The reason I ask is because it seems more like you don't like the answer, not because of the accuracy of the responses.

If you call USCIS, they will tell you the same.

Not solo I-130s packets.

Edit: Well..except in limited circumstances where an interview is deemed necessary. But that's very rare, especially for an F4 case.

Petition processing isn't the key, it is the priority date.  Nothing you can do to get that shortened.   What does it matter if it sits 90 months at Nebraska or sits for 120 months at NVC?

This is not about “views”; it’s about factual statements. What you’ve already been given are factual statements and someone coming in and saying something contradictory to the truth that has already been given here isn’t going to change that what you have already been told is true. If petitions could be transferred just because you want it transferred, many would have done so already. Not how it works though. And as you’ve already been told, whether it’s transferred to another service center or not, doesn’t speed up anything if the priority date isn’t current

F4 takes a long while. A very long while. I just got to the States with an F4 visa. The wait is long. VERY LONG.
