To take your concern  away contact USCIS tell them To transfer your interview date to me. I have been waiting since July 13.

OK...Update ...Had my interview yesterday. Was VERY nervous because of some arrest issues...30 year old dui and one other arrest 23 years ago. Officer asked me to take a deep breath and relax!!!!. After that it went real smooth ....asked Civics...went through the entire N400...corrected small issues. In and out in 30 mins. Very friendly and nice! Got my approval. Now wait on a oath letter. Had all my dispositions to show on court records. Have everything ready and organized! Good luck to all.

Who determines the interview date? A fast local office or once the local office gets the results back from FBI? From what I read before on a USCIS page, no interview is scheduled before clearing the background check with FBI. Any thoughts?

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

After the background check and when the local FO is ready. Most background checks take minutes to hours...it’s just the exceptions you see a lot where it takes weeks or months.

Who performs the background check and what do they check? Is it the FBI? Is it safe to assume that if an interview date is set, that means that the only steps left are passing the interview and the oath ceremony? Meaning that there will not be any hidden steps?

The immigration process caused me PTSD.
