Technically, yes. A refusal never goes away...it is just overcome.

That said, I 100% understand that most people don't complete the I-485 that way, and it's not a material matter so there's no harm either.

Hello all, my husband has been under AP for about 2 years now, they kept his passport after the interview. no answer as of now. very frustrated but absolutely nothing we can do.

I’m sorry, I really don’t know the answer to that question. If you’re in AP, that’s like being in between denial and approval, because they’re giving you a chance to get approved (if you can do whatever the Embassy is requesting)...

Where's your husband means which country and in these 2 years have they ever Contact or email or ask any docs any updates and tell me is your husbands passport expired or still valid

Hi guy's, A little update in my case wants to share as most of you know I had Interviewed on 2nd April 2019 Islamabad Consulate and right away they put me on AP and sent Ds5535 and some missing doc's which I sent on 22nd April, after that my case updates 20,21 & 22nd May on its own then updates in August 22nd and then 11 and 13 September and on 13 they sent my passport back which I got and later 17srptrmber I have received email from embassy which I am posting exact.

· Your new valid passport. (Previous one is expired)

Well it seems to me my AP journey has finished but Confuse about re fingerprints and Oath once again anyone has gone through or having any idea coming week I will be getting my new passport and will submit. @missileman @Boiler please need your comment on this. Thanks

That’s good to know. We only needed to submit a couple additional documents, along with the passport (no background checks, at least not according to the 221g).

I hope all the best for you, I was on the same boat until after I provided the additional document when they gave me a blank 221G.
