I saw an interesting post on Facebook from a Potomac filer. They received their NVC welcome email but their case status on MyUSCIS hadn’t even updated to approved.

My last “update” when logging in is from October still.

My case was approved on 2/4/20 but status never changed. It closed on 2/7/20 and i m at nvc. Texas Service center. I got notifications on case tracker that my case was approved. And document section of USCIS had approval letter.

It's been exactly like that for us for ages. We were approved in Sept, welcome letter in Oct, DQ in Feb, and our myUSCIS still says "received" haha, only our egov.uscis ever updated, and that one didn't even say approved, skipped straight from "received" to "Sent to Department of State"

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!

First post on here. I wish everyone has their approval soon. Our case had a date change today of February 27, 2020. We are at the Potomac Service Center with a July 12th PD. I saw that at least 4 were approved today and another 2 RFE on case tracker close to our case. Really hoping tomorrow will be the day.

Mayyyyyybe these kind of transfers or touches between service centers are what is updating what we all think is the "last updated date" on myuscis even though it doesn't really say that anywhere on the page...  And only the non-IOE filers got notified when their forms were transferred, physically?

It looks like most of the cases that had a date change on their cases were from Texas and Nebraska centers. I haven't heard of any Potomac Center filers with the date change of the 23rd. Anybody?

Yea I have Potomac and no change since oct 29

Not sure if anyone is interested but I’ve created a Potomac filers FB group as seems like a good place to get information and other centres have their own communities. Don’t think I can share any links here but the name is “I-130 Petition Potomac Filers” so feel free to join and share it.
