your case might be received by NVC but not yet created, so when they create your case they will send you welcome letter with case number and invoice ID good luck.....

A week or two?   In 2016, it took 6 weeks from NAO2 to NVC welcome email.

It takes about 6 weeks for them to send you your invoice no. All correspondence will be done done via e-mail.

All you need to do if you wish to send an email is include your:

Receipt No. From NOA2

Petitioner Name

Petitioner DOB

Applicant name

Applicant DOB

Then proceed to ask your question

There are instructions on the NO2 letter.  It states if you have not received a case number from the NVC TO email the with your name, fiance's name, email address and the case number the USCIS gave you in the subject line.  You ask them for your case number.  That is what I had to do because it was over a month when I noticed I didn't get anything.  Hope this helps

In 2016 we never received an email from NVC, and the letter from NVC probably took 2 months. We were more or less done with the whole visa process before we received the letter.

Do some embassies require the letter or why are people waiting for it? We never needed it for anything, and we got the case number by calling NVC (much faster than waiting for a letter that might never even show up).

6 to 8 weeks is normal for receiving the NVC case number after NOA2.  Just be patient and it will come.  Calling doesn't help, they just say wait...

Calling sure does help, but obviously they have to receive the case and assign a case number before they can tell you anything.

So yes, definitely start calling after about a month and then just keep calling until they give the case number.

Are you following the dates on the NVC site to see what dates are getting creation/ When was your NOA2? Have you called to see when they received it. Well here's the link you should follow the dates.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/after-petition-approved/begin-nat-visa-center.html

Current case file creation time:

Please allow up to six weeks for your case to arrive from USCIS from the date you receive your I-797. Once it arrives at NVC, we create your visa case and enter all of the data from your approved petition into the system. As of 24-JUN-2019 we are working on cases that were received from USCIS on 5-JUN-2019. Once your case has been created, we will contact you with instructions on how to begin processing. Until your case is entered into our system, we unfortunately won’t have any information about your case.

Now is a good time to prepare by reviewing required civil documents and how to find them, plus information about what forms and information your petitioner needs to demonstrate his or her ability to financially support you.

Case Complete to Interview spreadsheet

From now on your VJ Member name will be verified. If the name you put on form to be added to spreadsheet comes up not found, you will not be added to the spreadsheet. If you don't have a timeline you will not be added to the spreadsheet.

Please Please put your VJ member name only. Not nicknames or real names whatever your VJ name is. It's below your profile picture!!
