NYC DOE is (unfortunately) mayoral controlled...

It runs independent from the rest the state.

Did you guys have Eid off? I didn't. Ramadan? Chinese New Year? Etc?

 

Every culture wants everyone else to celebrate their holiday, that's what's happening. 

 

We just recently shot down another Muslim holiday...

My car camera caught a robbery in progress earlier today. I joined the chase, called 911, I dunno if they ended up catching the guys, I had ice cream in the trunk melting away...

I gotta get the clip to the cops. The camera caught them on the full run, perfect face shots. Very detailed.

Late June it has always been for public schools in NY as long as I've been alive. Our schools didn't have air conditioning, so that was intense.

I remember when I went to school, the year ended around June 10th. We didn't celebrate everybody's holidays by closing the schools. 

We had Jewish holidays even when I went to private school, but we had a sizable Jewish community. Syracuse doesn't seem like it does?

You still have school in late June???? Even with the days off this year due to the Hurricane school was out by June 10th. Also we don't have Jewish or Islamic holidays because we don't have any sizeable population of either here in NC. 

 

Since school has been out we have been steadily moving stuff over to the house we closed on back on the 13th.

I wss coming home from BJs. Had a slab of steak, ribs, ice cream, milk, few other things. 

 

I was pulling in, 2 m/b on the full run towards me, Asian guy chasing. I'm like, that's a robbery! I backed up, went around the block, picked up the complainant, lost the 2 perps by the train. At the same time I was talking to 911 (the car was awesome for hands-free voice commands). The cops got there in about 30 seconds to a minute. 

 

The complainant hopped into the cop car to canvass. They had my number on the queue. 

 

The precinct detective just visited me about 20 minutes ago. Gave him the chip from my car camera. 

 

As it turns out, there were 3 perps. One ran the other way before they got to where I was. 

 

This used to be a great neighborhood...

They didn't get the petps btw. 

But the shots from the car camera are really good and detailed. They'll get them. 

But, no-one is ever guilty here now. They won't even need bail. We've returned to the 70s revolving door policies that destroyed this city.

Your wife is able to take items to her sisters.  I dont blame you for not wanting to waste a non-refundable ticket but I'm not thrilled with Mrs. TB right now tbone.  She should appreciate how much you do. Even when you go "aypsheep" about no "cheeps."

 

Hubs fully admitted even when i work fulltime, he doesn't do much.  Really the man has zero reason to complain, but does anyhow as it seems to be just who he is.

However, Niki-B. ma'am, these are loads of stuff thoughtfully compiled by us personally, see Niki-B. ma'am.

Mrs. T-B. & Mama-Mrs.-T-B. (returning as we visit) will already have 2 loaded suitcases each, see ma'am.

We haven't visited Ecu since Mrs. T-B. was pregnant with Mini-B., >Many (>2x2x2) years man.

Mrs. T-B. has gone with Mini-B. twice and without us in the meantime, see man.

Mrs. T-B. complains that we never do anything as a couple, trip an opportunity man.

And we haven't gone aysheep about anything recently, reformed we man.

We just wish that she'd arrange the internal hotels, etc. before the last minute, courting disaster man.

Got our fizzicle therapy this afternoon, not a moment too soon man.

Our entire left side acutely locked up, standard for us every 2 or Many months man.

Fizzicle therapist came to the casa and remobilized us, partially better man.

Determined that we should carry nothing heavy in left hand, aggravate condition man.

We should work no more than half of Thursday, enough sitting man.

We should walk for a couple of days with a cane, able with cane we man.

She will remobilize us again on Sunday after vet visit & mow-lawning, see how we're doing man.

I'm a terrible judge of age. My mother went to Catholic school in Queens, otherwise I'd ask her and she's older than you, I'm sure. Their neighborhood was pretty Jewish, even back then.

No, No Eid or Chinese New Year. That has a lot to do with population shifts in the area. 

 

I don't think the government should be in the business of giving any religious holidays off across the board. If individuals would like an excused absence, that should be fine. You can't accommodate all religions, so selecting a few is unfair.
