So what does that mean if I may ask @Falcon Cara

AP is a hell hole for everyone.

My fiance did his interview in January and he was told he was approved and they gave him a piece of paper as well and also they took his passport we believe that it was over and we made plans. Little did we know that there's another six months of processing after that minimum..

They do not tell you but the issue is or what they are doing they could be doing simple paperwork or they could be doing extreme vetting and investigations on you and your family and your fiance for example I already contacted my senator and lawyers and I also contacted the embassy by me flying all the way over here to be able to talk to the consulate and I get the same news every time we just have to wait..

But rest assure I believe almost 99 % of immigrant applicants go through AP.

Unfortunately, approval is not really assured until the visa is actually issued.  Even after the CO says the word "approved", the case can be refused or even sent back to USCIS.  It is unfortunate that COs use that terminology.

Thats true and very unfortunate. They assured us and we got our house and made plans.. That all went to waste, money and time wasted.

I hope they allow us to be with the people we love soon

When it's returned back to uscis it means it's refused, do they notify us?? Because I'm worried our case have not been uodated for over a month.. Yet they didn't ask us to submit anything and we did not receive any papers or mail or emails.

Sounds like just administrative processing........when a case is sent back, the consulate would notify.........Unfortunately, AP is open-ended......and there is no way the expedite it......hang in there.....

Hello everyone. I wanted to comment on this because we have been in administrative processing for about 5 months and I have now there's no timeline for that and yes I will keep us updated almost every couple days on the website but right now it hasn't been updated for over a month after it changed to non immigrant administrative processing. I understand this is actually a normal process for everybody and it can take months depending on the case so our fingers are crossed that it will be done soon, usually administrative processing takes a minimum of 180 days so expect to wait a lot longer in some cases.

It's sad but hang in there. It's Normal after the trump extreme vetting on almost every applicant.

Certain countries have a history of taking a much longer time to vet a visa. Certain individuals have face peiods of 1, 2 and 3 years. Many of those historical timelines can be found here on VJ. These folks were transitioning through the Obama's presidency.  So, placing blame on Trump is in my opinion shortsighted and not fact based.

I feel much better with a delay to vet someone who may wish to do harm to Americans and this country.

I hope your visa is issued sooner then later.

Hi greenbaum, I had my interview on the 7th of June, Case was updated twice, one was after the interview and one again was on the 8th. On Monday the 10th, it changed to non immigrant “application received”. Last case update was yesterday. None today.

The duration really depends on the country.

Never, ever buy tickets or make plans until the visa is in hand.

Update! After 27 days since of my interview. Ceac status now just turned to ISSUED. I emailed the visa center desk last june 17 and they replied yesterday evening that "the immigrant visa unit is already reviewing the information and will make appropriate action then wait for further notification." And this afternoon it turned to ISSUED right away😍😍😍😍 thank you so much Greenbaum and Hank. I always read of your comments here at VJ😊 and it helped me alot.
