Trusting the process is always hard.  It's like the proverbial box of chocolates.  You never know what you're going to get.

It's easy to trust after things work out.  Until then you fret.

The different steps can take hours, days or months all without you seeing or knowing. Just check in and follow along. When it moves from "immigrant" to "non-immigrant" is when you are nearing the release of your visa. Again, your mileage may vary.

Why do some cases get approved and visas literally issued in 4 days and others get approved but then are in AP for months? Whats the reason? Does it mean the are doing more investigating or background checks or that something is wrong? I'm just curious. Hope this isn't the case for us when the time comes. I'm still waiting on my NOA2 on day 17 since they received my RFE.

The short answer, no one knows why it's different for each embassy.

What about when its the same Embassy? Several people in my group for the Dominican Embassy got approved and their visas in days and this petitioner has been in AP since May 8th. Makes me wonder why and whats the reason. Specially if they aren't even asking for any additional information or evidence and were told they were approved. But I guess we'll never know what goes on behind closed doors. Who knows could just be human error before they catch it and correct it.

This question is easily answered with the magic 8 ball. You'll never know why and no one can tell you with any certainty. I've written that so many times that my phone now predicts it when i answer that question.

I need help my fiancée and I went to his appointment on May 8,2019 at the Embassy in Santo Domingo and he got approved for his visa so we were told he got the approval notice right there and then but when we go into the ceac.gov website it states that his case is under administrative processing it was updated on May 9th to that and the updated it again on the 28th of May to the same thing. Has anyone else had any problems or issues of this sort? I would greatly appreciate any information because no one can seem to give me any information or contact #’s to get a hold of someone at the embassy.

Heres their number in case you still didn't have it. Have you called them yet to check the status?

By the mere fact you are here and people are explaining what comes next or what to or submit is what loweres the anxiety and helps with the trust the process.

Yes, I agree.  It has been extremely therapeutic reading through all this stuff and your contributions to this website are IMMENSE.  Thanks for all you do.

I have been getting great feedback and guidance out on the Ukraine website and reading through the Kiev consulate reviews.  My fiancee passed her medical exam with flying colors today so the next step is the interview in 2.5 weeks.  Getting close to the home stretch now.  I can almost taste that hot dog she and I will be sharing at Fenway some glorious Saturday afternoon.  I need to teach her the words to 'Sweet Caroline'.  😉

Hey greenbaum, just a quick note that I'm still in non immigrant AP since April 24th and with no updates at all on CEAC. Do I need to worry at this point.. I emailed my embassy and senator and said the same thing as always that it's still going under necessary administrative processing and will notify us when complete. But I thought after turning into non immigrant status we should be almost done.

Me and my fiance are under a lot of stress. My vacation is almost done and will be flying back to the USA soon with no news.. It's been 17 months for us since start. And 6 months since interview.. 😞

Any words that can help?

Countries such as yours tend not to be in a hurry.  You've done just about all you can. I have no shortcuts at this stage.
