Hey All!

Haha I guess I'm the last one 😅😅. Yup it took the full 5 months! But 5 months is better than 7, or yikes even 11 😢. Its been a long road but the journey doesn't stop yet.

I just got my NOA 2 approval alert via email and on the new site. Waiting to receive my letter to know what the next steps are. Time to check the other forum for NOA2 --> NVC. Peace ✌🏿

Thanks, bud. Nothing still. I tried calling those numbers to USCIS. I think some now may be outdated. The 5283 number still works, but I've never managed to get through to a human. The 866 number is some medical supply company or something. LOL

Well I know some people can wait as long as a month after their RFE. I'm now a month and three days. My fiance's spirits are surprisingly good. She's very optimistic still. But I'm having a harder time lately.

I'm fine to leave my phone on hold for a couple hours even, if that's what it takes. But I can't seem to find the right prompts to get me to a human at all. I think a lot of their menu options have changed probably since you had to call them. If I actually got through to a Tier 2 agent, would they even tell me anything besides what the website tells me? The automated recording is constantly saying how you don't need to call that number ever, and how you can just check the website for the exact same information.

I went through some of my old posts.  Try this:

18003755283

press options: 1,2,7,9,4, & 6

Then enter your receipt number.

So I just tried this, and option 4 was for an address change. Option 6 then said it would transfer to me a customer service rep. I hung up though cause I was nervous to be transferred to a human under false pretenses. Or maybe I could use some advice when I get through to the human. Cause that option was for address changes. Not sure what I should say to them.

Yup 866 is the wrong number that YOU dialed. :bonk:  When you were dialing the computer could tell that you needed medical help hence the reason for the wrong number.

This is a blog that requires people like you to tell people like me your experience with tips, trick and hacks that are in the PDF so that we can update them. But saying that it must be outdated and you offer no updated information to correct what you believe is outdated does no one any good. And when you say 866 number when it is actually 0888 lends me to believe you just except something and more on after trashing the help. Try helping yourself and then help with the corrective action for others to use.

I highly doubt that any of those numbers are non working. Just my opinion.

2. Checking on your embassy case number from NVC: It will take 30 days (some sooner) for
NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then another 5 - 10 business
days for NVC to get your file in their system and produce your case number. Call 9:00 am
eastern time for shorter wait times. NVC hours have changed and are now 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
1-603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888. Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday
from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (Eastern Time) 1 for English, then 7 (or 5, but I would go 7 as they
would tell you if you should call 5 instead after they receive your case.)

I'll give the NVC number a try, thank you.

As for the 866 number, that was just the number that Tand showed me. I dialed it exactly as he showed it to me and I was merely theorizing it was a bad number. He may have copied it wrong, I don't know. I'm very grateful for his help and moral support. Who's bashing the help?  Should I have known it was actually an 888 number? I'm nothing BUT appreciative of the help around here. Sorry if I led to any misunderstandings or misinformation for others.

Awesome to hear that! Congratulations! For now I bet all you want to do is jump like a little mexican bean all over the house (that's what I did for a good hour or so when we found out we were approved haha)

The next steps should be "shorter" in a sense yes, I guess most people say getting the approval is the longest one not so much because of the length but because in that stage nor beneficiary or petitioner can do anything to "speed up" or know the state of their petition concretely, so it's the less controllable & unpredictable of all the stages per say, no accurate time frame, can't check the "state of your petition" (if it has been touched or not, etc.) and the approval rests on "stranger" hands.

Remember that the time frame for the case to be transferred to NVC is 6 weeks, it can be less than that so brace yourself.

Also something very important to take in consideration is appointment availability, this really varies from country to country, so in some countries you could get an appointment for next week while on others  it could take even 5 months to get one so don't get too frustrated,  in the end, all be it in the name of love :)
