I filed on March 1 and did bio in april since then no updates from vermont. I see only 15 cases between mine and image.png.c6a69c59b549fcf46009f246109a8831.pngis any one of your case is before this or after this. it will help in seeing how fast applications are moving.

I filed in February 2019, did bio same month and my status is showing Status case was updated to show fingerprints were taken as of august 29th 2019. Been like that for a while now .

Can you update your timeline? You are still in the 17.5 month range for processing times so you are only at almost 12. I don't know what you mean that you "can't go nowhere". You can move, travel etc, just carry your extension letter. If you get an appointment for interview you will have time to get back, if made short ish trips if I were concerned. I believe you went get an RFE at this point but who knows for sure. Stay strong.

Try to breathe... Like I just posted, Vermont processing time is almost 18 months, you are well within your timeframe. Each processing center has it's own idiosyncrasies, Vermont will hit it's stride.

Wondering if I should apply for citizenship

If you are within the time-frame, you should anyway.

Lastly, to clarify, this process runs independently from a pending I-751, and in the past we have seen how a concurrently-filed citizenship application can help get a decision on an otherwise delayed 751. You will either show up at a citizenship interview with an approved 10-year card or the officer will be able to approve both the 751 and citizenship with an interview on the latter. (Also, we have seen in election years that USCIS tries to speed up the citizenship process. That is not guaranteed, of course, but if you are inclined to apply to become a citizen, this would be a good time.)

I see, do it as soon as you can... Prices are gonna almost double and being a citizen eliminates immigration totally.

Any movement on Vermont, I’m getting nervous ?

Some approvals and RFEs based on the Case Tracker. I search 250 cases before and 250 after mine and it is 1-2 approvals a week. Kind of slow, and there is no clear sequence in the approvals- some cases that were filed later get approved/RFE while earlier cases are still pending. I am thinking of filing n-400 and that is the only reason I am checking to get a feel how cases around mine are moving otherwise it is a waste of time. Vermont's current processing timeline is 13-17.5 months. At 13-month they are supposed to be processing 50% of the cased and by 17.5-month 95% of the cases.

You have to understand that things cases don't always go in numerical order. When files are submitted they don't all go into one pile. individual officers get a Pyle electronically or physically I'm not exactly sure how it works that goes in each office. some officers go on vacation they have days off and other things come into play. so you never really know when your file gets to the top of the pile. finally I need to stayed one thing it really surprises me when people say not going for citizenship is a waste of time and that honestly boggles my mind. Evidently I mean obviously I should say it's up to everyone individually but in my mind it is never a waste of time. to me it's the whole meaning of going through immigration people want to come to the United States they make a life here spend money on visas get removal of conditions, physicals, vaccinations, 10 year green cards and it culminates in citizenship and passport. To me that is the ultimate goal.

I understand that cases do not always go in numerical order exactly, but they do go in numerical order in most cases and it can be seen in the case tracker. For example when comparing when cases were received with case numbers it is clear that vast majority of the cases go in sequence. Of course the cases get assigned to different officers and things can take a different turn from their on, however is USCIS's problem and not ours to ensure that the cases get processed in the order they receive them. Having a 10-month gap in their processing time clearly shows they do not process the cases in the order they receive them. USCIS can simply institute internal deadlines upon themselves to make sure that the cases get processed in the order they receive them and not randomly at the discretion of IOs. I did not mean filing a citizenship is a waste of time, I meant worrying and checking the website is a waste of time, since USCIS does not disclose how they process the cases. Lastly, some service centers such as New York is very backlogged and that is the reason why some applicants such as myself think twice before filing n-400 while their i751 is still pending.

In sorry if I misread your intention.

I initially did all my dining from NY until we moved to Pennsylvania and I agree, NY can be a mess. Once the cases are filed, who really knows what goes on and what criteria may hold up or accelerate am individual application. I used to be one of the ones that would check twice a day, run searches, 500 at a time, in front of my number and behind it. When I stopped checking, that when the and and emails came. Mhm go figure 🙃

Finally I have seen that most of the time, N400 pushed i751, especially those that were delayed. Very rarely, but possibly, the cases aren't put together and it takes more effort from the applicant to ensure they are combined. It's not common but like anything else, it can happen. Continued best of luck to everyone.
