Hi Family.  We were approved on 1/10/2019.  I called NVC today to find out if they had received & assigned a case # to us.  The person I spoke with said no.  She said it takes several weeks.  I thought it takes about 10 day to receive it after NOA2.  I updated my beneficiary's email as well as mine.  Hopefully, we will get a reply when NVC has a case # for us.  Any thoughts on this?  Did I call too soon?

Some cases have taken as long as 1-2 months to get a case number.

Wow!  That's a long time.  Some people seem to get it faster.  Thanks for your reply.  I have to exercise more patience...….

It was so upsetting to see some people get their case received at the NVC within 2-3 weeks of noa2. Our case took 6 FULL WEEKS to arrive at the NVC. So I'd sit tight and maybe call once a week since you just got noa2. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones, but many of us also wait 1-2 months.

My goodness, 6 weeks waiting to get a #.  That's crazy.  I don't understand  what kind of system they have in issuing them 😒.  I am sorry you guys had to wait so long.  You had to be frustrated.  Thanks for responding.

Okay.  Will try that.  Today, I called at 6:00 pm.  I was surprised I only waited 30 minutes before someone picked up.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I was approved on 9 January and I've been calling for 2 days now.  They still have not received my packet and the person I spoke to would tell me that it can take up to 6 weeks before they receive anything from USCIS.  I know it's frustrating because you see some people packets make it to NVC in 14 days.  I'm just going to keep calling everyday.  First I'm stressed about the packet being approved now I'm stressing about NVC receiving my packet then I'm going to stress about my packet leaving NVC then I"m going to stress about when my consulate receives my packet and when I'm allowed to make my appointment.  Sheesh, so much stress, lol

AOS Timeline (I-485, I-765, I-131)

12/28/2019:  Packages sent to USCIS via Fedex

12/30/2019:  USCIS received packages

1/08/2020:  NOA for all 3 applications

1/17/2020:  Received biometrics appt letter for the I-485 and I-765 (Code 3).

1/31/2020:  Biometrics completed

2/20/2020:  RFE

6/15/2020:  Case is Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview

6/15/2020:  I-765 (New Card is Being Produced)

6/30/2020:  Received Combo Card in the Mail

4/22/2021:  AOS Interview

4/26/2021:  AOS Approval

4/29/2021:  Permanent Resident Card received in the mail

I think 10 days is possible, but not common.

We just rec'd NOA2 on Jan 22.    So obviously, timing until the NVC is important to us.   I pulled the following information from VJ timeline analysis.   These are the January NOA2s I've found, showing an NVC receipt.   I sorted from shortest to longest.   This is only sorted for those who have an NVC receipt date, so obviously doesn't include those who have not got that yet....like you and us.

You mentioned NOA2 of Jan 10.......so based on the average of 14.5 days, you should see it soon..........obviously that could go longer.

😂I feel the same way.  Honestly, if this doesn't end soon, I am going to be a nut case.  We are constantly worrying about one thing or another; from the beginning up to now & more worries coming up getting ready for the big interview day, at the embassy.  I am glad someone else understands.  Some of my VJ family members advised me to continue calling, so I am going to do the same as you.
