The best tools are waiting here on VJ for you to use to predict where your case is in the process. First we need you to do some housekeeping.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Tool Tip 1: Use the tools here in VJ to answer "when I am going to get etc. etc." question. Near your picture there is a link for your timeline. Select it and once you're on the next page near your picture  you will see "follow similar timelines" and it will populate 12 other couples who are near your dates. Scroll down and you will see a "spreadsheet" style page showing all the variables for measurement for when others are getting the same notice of approval or action.  Try it. It really works!

I followed those that were in my group to give me an idea where they were in processing so I could judge if I was ahead or behind.  It's pretty accurate, maybe within a day or so.

If you choose to follow those twelve members then you will get an email every time their status updates.

Tool Tip 2:  You can see the most recent approvals (of people who posted here and updated their timelines) here https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php

Tool Tip 3:  If you select your flag in your profile it's going to open up to a page with lots of information. In the middle upper part of the page you are going to see "Quick Links" then in the list select "Embassy Review" and you will be taken to a page where you can read what others have experienced at your Embassy and you can add your review. Once it is complete then cut and paste the URL for your review into this thread to share with everyone. This keeps the thread clean and tidy, and not only those who are here to see it but others who may not see this thread but would see your experience. A good interview will point out some of the hiccups that you experienced along the way and the highlights of your experience. These are very helpful. I am looking forward to your review and thanks for sharing.

I hope these will be helpful to you and others while you await your visa adjudication.

Thanks a Million, great to see everyone here is in good spirits and so friendly, I will definitely share my experience with anyone else who begins their process, I have updated my profile, hope this can helps others define and assist me in any further "Newbie" questions I might have

HEy Everyone! It’s sooo hard, I’m getting soooo impatient. I checked my VJ timeline and it says should be expecting NOA2 around the end of June... idk how accurate that is 😫😫 does anyone know if that’s accurate or not? But anywho, i visit my fiancé in 3 more weeks so I’m looking forward to that ♥️♥️😊

Anywho! Hope everyone is well and is being patient! 😊

I know how you feel. You'd think that after 4 years this last part would be easier. It's good you're able to visit though. Idk how accurate the timeline estimate is, but I'm REALLY hoping it is. Just try and focus on the visit for now! 😊

I know the timeline is based on other people's timelines, and it seems like it's good to adjust periodically. Mine has moved the date around every couple weeks when I've checked. (Seems like they're processing faster recently!) But just a good reminder to keep our timelines updated for those after us ☺️

I agree! I've been checking every now and then, and mine has moved up and back by a week or two.

There is a better gauge.

Well hello January filers I know I've been away for awhile, but I am reading and I am seeing October filers get approved now so you all have to be jerking at the bit now as it's getting closer now for January filers. Cases this year seem to be flying through as compared with when I filed in May 2018, but that's a good thing for you. In fact I just got approved March 7th, 300 days and 10 months later. I was the last of my group now I'll make this one of my new homes. Hoping to see many happy comments soon as the first of the January approvals start to roll in soon.  Remember to stay focused and don't over think it.

Hi Guys !

I have a question. My fiance (the petitioner) lost his passport. As he is visiting me next month, he reported it missing and asked for a new one.

In the petition, he scanned his previous one as he lost it after filing it. Do you think we will get an RFE because of that ? Should he call to ask if he can send the copy of his new passport ?

I wish you all a great day

Marie

The passport is used to prove the petitioner is a US  citizen nothing else. I would not notify USCIS  but just keep records of the lost and the replacement in case they ask. You'll be fine.

Use the new passport number for any new documents that request a passport number. Bring a copy of the BIO page with you to the interview and if it is needed you will have it. Petitioner's passport is mostly for identification so I doubt it will be asked for.

Can anybody tell me if there's a status inbetween recieved and approved at the uscis page? I know that it shows update dates when they're working on it but is there a change in text saying something like: we're working on it? Except for receiving a RFE, that's something I don't want to see 😉
