You should honestly just get legally married during your 10 days in London and file the CR-1 right away. Have the reception and such as planned in June. You'll be in the states by next Dec/Jan with a green card.

So just so I get this right....do I have to be married before I can apply for the CR1? And if not can I apply for it, then be married in June and go directly back to The States with him to live and work?

You must be married prior to applying for a CR-1.....it is a spousal visa....there are no shortcuts, unfortunately.

Ok so I have to be married, now apologies for my denseness .....but I'm just trying to get this straight. As soon as I marry and apply straight away for the CR1 Visa I can go directly back to The States with him, straight away?

Not as a legal resident.   That process is more than a year to complete

You can make short visits during the process, but you cannot stay in the US until after the CR-1 visa is issued.......about 12-14 months after application.

No, CR1 will take a year or more after filing the initial petition.  You will have to wait in the UK or Gibraltar while he is in the US.  Visit each other during the year apart.  Good luck.

To stay in the US immediately after the wedding, correct......But I caution you....there are MAJOR disadvantages to the K-1 .....

K1 is for engaged couples, intending to marry in the US, and takes 8-10 months after filing the paperwork.  CR1 is for married couples, takes a year after filing.  CR1 is recommended.  Get married as soon as possible, assuming you have met multiple times already, file the CR1 petition, and wait.  Visit each other to make it bearable.  This is what we are all doing.  It's hard but possible if you really love each other.

Looks like you have not yet read the guides that many recommended earlier in this thread.  Read them, study them.

But the wedding must occur in the USA after the Visa has been issued.

With the K-1 Visa, you also cannot stay in the states more than visits, until AFTER you get the visa. Which takes like 8-10 months at this point. You also can't marry until you have the visa, and enter the States with the visa (So couldn't do the June wedding in this scenario). Once you are in the States using the K1 visa you typically cannot work for like 5-6 months.

Another option is for you to enter the US via ESTA.......marry your fiance......then leave prior to the expiration of your I-94.......start the CR-1 process......and make visits during the next year's process....
