Tax Transcripts

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find anything pertaining to this exactly. I ordered my tax transcripts for the past 3 years from IRS.gov and it said 5-10 business days. Well it's been over 2 weeks and I've yet to receive them so I decided to just download them from their site. I notice on the top of them, (I guess for safety reasons) it only lists; the last 4 of my SSN, the first 4 letters of my last name (no first name at all) and  my house # and first 3 letters of my street address. Will NVC accept this? I mean, will they use common sense and match all the info I've provided them with to this and see these transcripts clearly belong to me? Or are there transcripts out there that show full information on them? Anyone?

If these transcripts were downloaded from the IRS websites, they yes, they will accept them.

What You Need

To register and use this service, you need:

• your SSN, date of birth, filing status and mailing address from latest tax return,
• access to your email account,
• your personal account number from a credit card, mortgage, home equity loan, home equity line of credit or car loan, and
• a mobile phone with your name on the account.

Note:  Not all mobile phone accounts will work.....I use straight talk (no contract), and it will not allow me to download my transcripts....seems a little ridiculous to me.....

just went to IRS site to see about this  as you said it costs money

$50 a copy

free if u walk into any IRS office with SS card and photo ID

 

$50 a piece for 3 is $150

that is a lot of gas money to get to nearest IRS office

The website states

"Those who need an actual copy of a tax return can get one for the current tax year and as far back as six years. The fee per copy is $50."

I only needed transcripts as I've read from other VJ members those are better and simpler to provide to the NVC. Those are free. I didn't have to pay when I requested to have them sent by mail (which I've still not received as of yesterday) nor did I have to pay online last night when I ended up downloading them to my phone.

you get an actual tax transcript at IRS office with full name and full ss#

that is where i got all mine // no charge

My husband's cell didn't work either, but we did manage a convoluted way around it. They sent whatever code via snailmail instead of txt, and we got into the IRS account that way.

TRANSCRIPTS are FREE regardless of if you obtain them off the website or go into an office. Full copies are not (that would be time and money photocopying on their staff's part).

TRANSCRIPTS are FREE regardless of if you obtain them off the website or go into an office. Full copies are not (that would be time and money photocopying on their staff's part).

i got full IRS transxripts  this is multiple pages and even forms i did not file as i did not have to do Schedule A 

mine were   free

i wanted one for immigration and one for me

man said he could only give me one a day and i said i would return tomorrow for another and he gave me 2

So that brings up another question; on the website, it had a drop down menu where it asks me to select a reason I needed the transcripts. "Immigration" was one of the reasons but I didn't choose that, I just selected "Income verification". Do you know if this selection makes the transcript come out looking a different way ? Because the ones I downloaded and printed look like something I could've just typed up in Microsoft Word. It has the big IRS treasury heading and whatnot at the top but it still looks like I could've made this document myself. Is there some official seal/stamp that needs to be on these things or what?

Its possible, we certainly selected the right reason for needing the document which was immigration purposes. I don't remember offhand seeing anything redacted on the document either.
