Hey Everyone! I have an I-751 pending since July 2017 and the N-400 since July 2018. I called USCIS today to get an update on the I-751 since that has gone over the normal processing time. I also brought up my N-400 processing with the rep and was told that she can see in the system that I am in line for an interview but she doesn't see a date yet. Does that mean I should hear about an interview date soon? When I check my online USCIS account, the N-400 still has a 15 month period left for completion and the status is unchanged. I filed it in Houston.

Thanks!

Hi. It seems Houston has a longer processing time than most. I filed my I-751 in mid-July of 2017 and didn’t get much traction on that so I went and filed my N-400 in May of 2018. At the time, the system gave my estimated time to completion as 24 months!!! When I went for my infopass appt in July of last year, the officer who stamped my passport said the system showed that I would require an interview and given current wait times I would probably be waiting over a year. As of January my time to completion was showing 18 months but I moved to Illinois. The day I changed my address, my time dropped from 18 months to 6 months and my interview schedule notice came the next day. I say all this to say, unfortunately because you’re in a houston you could be waiting a while more.

Hey guys. So since I got my infopass appt in July of last year I didn’t get much movement on my case outside of my application being sent to Lees Summit. I originally filled both my I-751 and N-400 out of Houston but I recently moved to Chicago. Immediately I changed my address in the system, my naturalization estimated time to completion dropped from 18months to 6 months. And the next day I got the notice saying my appt had been scheduled.

I had my appt last Thursday and the officer did both. She asked a few questions regarding the I-751 ie if we were still married, been divorced and all that. She did ask to see my spouse and she checked his ID and he signed some paper. Then we moved on to the N-400 and she asked 5 civics questions and one English language question. She didn’t ask for any evidence or supporting documents. She said I passed the test but they needed to process my I-751 first before she could approve my N-400. She said this wouldn’t affect my oath ceremony timeline as she was putting me on the schedule and it should happen within the next 6 weeks. Status hasn’t changed in the system as yet so still waiting but it feels like there’s light at the end of this loooooong tunnel

Thank you guys for responding to my post earlier.

I checked my status on both USCIS websites and it says following.

USCIS old websiteOn September 15, 2018, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number EAC************, at your local office.

USCIS new websiteOn February 26, 2018, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number EAC*************, at your local office.

Service Center on extension letter: VSC

N-400 Status on new websiteWe reviewed your bio-metrics. You do not need to do anything at this time. Wait time says 5 months

Service Inquiry Submitted date: March 25th, 2019

Questions:

1. Besides service inquiry, do I need to do anything else?

2. Why two statuses show different on both websites (see above)

3. How do you know whats your local office? I am in New York

Thank you so much for reading and answering my questions above. I really appreciate it and wish you all best wishes. :)

Hi All,

I've received response from USCIS on my service inquiry: Both I-751 and N-400 will be adjudicated at the same time.

Thanks

I was the 3rd poster in the beginning of this ROC thread back in July 2017.

Wife finally got her 10 year Green Card in early December 2018, and we filed for her citizenship on 8 December 2018.

I then mostly switched over to the Citizenship Forum.

Early notifications were that she would be waiting 10 months or so til August 2019 for movement on Citizenship.

But as a surprise, she got notification in late February 2019 that her Citizenship Interview would be on 26 March 2019 (yesterday).

She passed all (English written, English spoken, U.S. History, U.S Government) with flying colors and was even thanked by the Interview Officer for being so well prepared with everything.  As result she was done in about 26 minutes.

Now she is waiting to get notification as to the Oath Ceremony date.

So that is the final story to report to this thread.

Best of luck to all.

I just got the interview scheduled notification for my naturalization. USCIS said they will adjudicate both I751 and N400 together. Seems like some movement finally

Finally!!!!🙏🏻👍👌💯

I received an email today that my  New card is being produced! 20 months of waiting, with RFE but no interview.

I haven’t applied for naturalization but that would be the next thing that I’m gonna do. Best of luck to everyone who is still waiting for their approval. I know you’ll get there.

I just passed my citizenship test and interview, my roc has been adjudicated as well at the same time, I front loaded when i submitted my ROC,so the interviewer said they will only interview me and left my spouse in the waiting room, since she said I have more than enough documents that have been submitted. I was also prepared enough today with original documents in case if it was needed,so when she saw my heavy case that i was carrying, she complimented me how well prepared I was. She only ask me 2 documents my appointment letter and my expired green card. During the intial start of the interview she stated right away shes gonna adjudicate first my ROC and then my n400, ask me 6 random question from history and civics and then she said Ive passed that first phase, then ask me to read a sentence in the ipad infront of you and then she ask me

to write down a sentence she said. Then what follows is the questionaries you answer in the N400,after that she stated your rights if u become an american and you sign and agree..then she said both application has been approve..now i just gotta wait for the card 10 year green card which she said should arrive by thursday and then my oath appointment letter. After that she said i will have to turn over that 10 year green card during the oath..

Finally this long journey is about to end..

Good for those of you who are still on this road..there is a light at the end of the tunnel

best wishes to everyone...
