Could someone advise me please, I got my passport stamped with I-551 when my NOA letter didn’t arrive in time, I only got sms of the receipt. The letter came 5 months later, got the letter March 2019, filing date was October 2018. My worry now is that I want to travel out of USA, my stamp will expire you soon, and my expired green card was retrieved from me when I first stamped my passport in December 2018. Should I travel with the letter alone since I don’t have the expired card anymore, but by the time I will be traveling my current stamped would have expired also. I am contemplating if I should book an infopass and go in to restamp or to just use the valid letter with the expired stamp in my passport since the letter is for 18months.

You have to get a new stamp. When you get a stamp the extension letter is no longer valid.

Really? Can someone else confirm this detail please. Thanks @Georgia16

Confirmed. You need a new stamp in your passport.  To be able to use the extension letter, you must have your expired green card with it to return to the USA.

Hi everyone!

My case was received by USCIS on October 5, 2018. Biometrics completed back in November, 2018. So today I received an update that my case was transferred to my local office (NYC). Does it mean they will schedule an interview for me? Anyone had the same experience? As far as I know, most of the cases are approved without an interview nowadays.

What about California filers? Anyone got approved yet?

Hey I'm from California. Yesterday, I got an update on my case tracker app that my application has been transferred to another USCIS office and that I would receive a mail explaining why they made this decision.

Did anyone else face this situation?

That's exactly what happen to me. Early morning I received a notification that my case was transferred to other office,  later on that it was transferred to my local office. I really hoped it would be approved without an interview

They are probably doing this to share the workload since they are so far behind.

If you filed N-400, your case will be transfer and another office will have the jurisdiction to preside over your case. Reason been that on the day of citizenship interview, the applicant would be interview for I-751 too, the both will be approve simultaneously if it’s found credible for approval.

I didn't file N400 yet which is why I'm surprised .
