Hi, all! I'm joining the October NOA2 thread! Wooo!

For all things dealing with the US Embassy in Canada head on over to the subforum for Canada where they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/93-canada/

Get the Canadian K1 P3 letter at http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the P3 as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

http://canada.usembassy.gov/

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv

You can't hurry it along at all. You have to wait for P3 which takes 2-4 weeks from Ready. Comply with what they ask for in P3 (the actually one they send you) by sending them a copy of the signed P3 checklist, your DS160 confirmation and your Passport Bio. Then they send you P4. Then they tell you to register to schedule and you'll wait some more for interviews to open up, which only happens once a month during the last week of the month for two months ahead UNLESS you are lucky and you scoop up a cancellation. Get your medical appointment first so you can schedule the interview shortly afterwards.

Visa Payment System information:

There is indeed a cash pay option but i wanted to do it online so i clicked on the "provide feedback" option and explained my situation and they said to wait 24 hours as well! Here is what they said about the cards: "In addition, please note that our payment gateway is set-up to process the following branded cards:

1. VISA Debit

2. VISA Electron

3. MasterCard Debit

4. Maestro

Just because a card is branded with VISA/MasterCard does not automatically mean it is a debit card. Many of the refusals we have seen are V/MC branded Credit Cards which we never accept.

In addition, there are a number of domestic debit card schemes that are available in the region. Each of these card schemes must have the following features to be accepted online:

1. Co-branded with VISA/MasterCard(Maestro) – i.e. they must have one of these logos on the card.

2. Contain a CVV number (this is the three digit number on the back of the card).

If they do not have both these features, they will not be accepted. "

Told Fiance to call Embassy and figure out whether she can do Medical with NVC assigned case number or has to wait for the letter from embassy.
So now she should expect a P3 with further instructions as to what they will require to get done?
I did find somewhere the whole pdf copy of requirements, will have to go thru my history for that. The wait for embassy interview isn't too bad for K-1, 3-7days (she spoke with a person from embassy by accident, who happened to happen to come for a drink in the bar she works). So if that's correct, i want her to do Medical and other preparation stuff so she'd just have to schedule interview.
ThankS!
