From the time NVC assigns the case number, how long does it typically take to get the letter in the mail from them? My NVC case number was assigned on 17 July. Thank you.

Not sure what letter you mean but I take it you means the P3?

That depends on two things:

- how fast is NVC processing your case and sending it to the embassy

- how fast is the embassy on processing your case and sending you the letter/email

Right now the average processing time for NVC is about 2 to 4 weeks. When you call them they tell you they can take 4 to 6 weeks.

Great idea. Please let us know what they said!

I just emailed the embassy/consulate in the Netherlands to notify them of my change of (physical) address. They mailed me back within minutes to say they'd contact me though email.

Here's the response, glad the Belgrade embassy is also quite quick with responding to emails.

Dear _____

We have not received your case yet.  There is no need for you to fill out DS-160 prior to receiving instructions for us.  It is possible to complete another DS-160 and to use either confirmation sheet.

Sincerely,

This was the letter I was told that we need in order to get our medical appointment in Indonesia.

Ah yes. That is the letter or email that the NVC sends to the petitioner that the case is sent on to the embassy/consulate.

I am pretty sure that they tell you to wait for it cause you need the case number to schedule your medical. But you already have that so no need to wait for the letter.

I'm not familiar with the way the Indonesian embassy works though. You might want to ask some old vets from your countries regional forum.

We have our case number. I got it over the phone last week. Our issue is that we need to bring a copy of that letter to the medical appointment. I am just trying to see how long from the time they assign the case number to when they will send that letter. Thank you.

From what I have heard, they will send us the case number letter to the petitioners again too.

Thank you for the information. I'll try calling too! hehe

Yes, the DS-160 can be accessed by both the Petitioner and the Beneficiary.   You will both need to know the Application ID number and answers to the security questions.   The application will remain "active" for 30 days, but can also be "downloaded" and then "uploaded" at a later date.

Everything you state above is correct.

Thank you!!! where do you download it from? please send me the link.
