I know my husband and I love each other and our relationship is genuine BUT reading hundreds of VJ threads on Morocco and the Casablanca Consulate, and I’m now experiencing a strong case of paranoia and nerves. I’m wondering if our case is strong enough for the consulate. I’ve read a lot about the importance of front loading as basically the CO has already made their decision before the interview.  This is a long message so I apologize now for the headache that you’re about to dive into.

For our I-130, I submitted 64 photos of us together from October 2015  - August 2017 along with dates and locations for each photo. I was working and still live in Morocco. We lived in the same city our first year together until he got transferred to a different city because of his job. Our second year, I took a job in a city that was closer to his but we lived in separate cities. We still visited each other on major holidays and a couple weekend trips. We were married in April of 2017 but I didn’t move in with him until my work contract ended in June 2017. I would go home for summer and spend about 1-2 months with family before going back to Morocco. I also submitted 60 screen shot messages with dates from WhatsApp that show our first convo in Oct 2015 - Aug 2017. I submitted our I-130 in Oct 2017.

We have been living together for a full year, I subtracted the months I was visiting family over the past 2 summers. We also share the same religion. He is 5 years older than me. We do not have any kids and neither of us have been married before.

Question: Is that considered enough evidence? I didn’t provide plane/bus tickets or my work contracts. (Though my employment history w/ address is in the I-130)

I’m worried if this will look fishy to the CO: We signed our kitaab (marriage certificate) April 2017 and had a small party with his family. We wanted to hold off on a full wedding celebration until December 2018 because a lot of his family lives in Europe and I wanted my family to be able to fly up during the winter break, plus I was still working at the time and still intended to go home for the summer. I submitted photos of our small kitaab/wedding celebration with the I-130.

Possible problem, only my uncle, his girlfriend, and my dad attended the wedding. My mother and half siblings did not attend. Though to be fair, my mom hasn’t been in my life for 14 years now. I’m wondering if the lack of family coming to the wedding on my side will severely damage our case.

For NVC I submitted 15 more photos from 4 separate trips/events (4 of them being of the wedding celebration photos from Dec 2018).  Dates of the photos are from Dec 2018 to Feb 2019. I had other photos, selfies etc but I didn’t think to submit these and I’m worried now if maybe the evidence will look a little weak on the NVC side since I submitted that to them at the beginning of Aug 2019.  So like a 4 month gap on photos. 😰We are still currently living together in Morocco.

Having a basic idea of our case/story do you see anything that would be a major problem/red flag for us at the interview. I plan on bringing extra photos to the interview but I’m worried they won’t give my husband a chance to show them.  We our currently waiting for our interview date. NVC CC was Aug 17th. If you read this far, bless you.

youve spent a huge amount of time in person. you have plenty of evidence. your case seems (to me) to be far more solid than the majority of the ones from that consulate. As long as your husband can answer questions about you/your relationship without hesitation, I really dont see a problem. you can always send additional photos to the interview, and if unable to enter to consulate building with him for his interview, have him bring your passport in with him to show you are there (assuming you are). build more evidence, have names on legal documents together (since you are in same area), and take it all to the interview.

Thank you for taking the time to respond! I'm definitely nervous because this consulate is known to be difficult due to high fraud. I don't have my name our on apartment contact as they only required my husbands name to sign off, I'll ask my husband if they can update it. We don't own a car, most Moroccans use taxis and his work provides transportation services.

I can give him my passport since we'll both travel to Casa when he has his interview but I can't go in.  By send more photos to the interview do you mean have him bring them with him? Or submit them to NVC? Our case is complete so idk if that is possible anymore?

Your case is super solid, you have nothing to worry about and have no red flags, stop reading the forum, it will get to you trust me 😂. You'll get an approval, just relax and everything will be alright.

The Casablanca Consulate forums are like a horror movie. Scary as hell but I just cannot look away.

relax. keep spending that time together and legally intertwining into each others lives (such as the suggestions i posted). Youve got this :)

I just want to chime in to agree - your case looks solid! 🙂 If you can get those additional docs (added to the lease, wills/powers of attorney, etc) that would be great. If your husband speaks as confidently as you've written about your previous living situation and the reasons more of your family weren't at the ceremony (without hesitation or apology - there's nothing wrong with those scenarios), you should have no issues. I understand how paranoid reading the stories on this forum can make you, but trust in what you've created together. This is indeed one of the strongest cases I've seen on VJ. Deep breath....exhale...go forth with confidence! 🙂

I'm so relieved that you guys think it looks fine!  I was having a mini panic attack when I realized how much of a gap I'd left in photos for NVC and the realizations just snow balled from there.  So stress levels were a little high. I think somewhere deep in the dark web of the Morocco forum I read a married couple, pregnant, was denied.

Thank you for the kind words. You're right! I just need to breathe! I'm renewing my Moroccan visa (carte se jour) this week and will look into the other legal documentation.

I'm not sure if it's the same for everyone, but the time after NVC CC feels like the longest and most  emotionally difficult portion of the visa journey, though ironically it's usually the shortest.

One thing, though -- you may want to check your dates for the photos.  It will be very suspicious to submit photos from Dec 2018 to Feb 2019 --- in Sept or Oct of 2018!  😃

Oops that's a typo here on my part! I will try to edit the original message. It should've been Dec 2017 - Feb 2018! I blame the stress and lack of coffee this morning. 😆

I assumed it was, but wanted to call it to your attention so it didn't get repeated in any official paper work by mistake.  You'l be fine -- try to calm down a bit so you don't make yourself sick (or crazy!)....easy to say, but hard to do, I know.

I always say that living together is the gold medal when it comes to evidence of a bona fide relationship. And in your case that's definitely true. You have a very strong, solid case.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Perhaps, your cases is one of the strongest I have encountered on VJ.

I am 99.9% sure your spouse s visa will be approved Nshlah.

Honestly, the only concern you may have is how long before he receives Visa in hand.

However, I hope your wait is within days only nshlah. Bon Courage!

Ps. Please change the title of your post; I see not one red flag.

All this is good advice.  I would add that you make sure your husband take financial support documents, and proof of US domicile, your income in the US or future job there, sponsor documents, etc. since you live in Morocco with him this could be an issue in the interview.  And coach him on the typical questions asked, which it sounds like you've done.  There are many stories on VJ of interviews where the person hesitated when asked a question or didn't know a fact on the I-130.  From what I've read about that consulate, they can be tougher than others in this regard.  Best of luck!
