Well if you actually read my post (which obviously you didn’t) you would see that I said I know nothing and am just repeating what I was told. Never stated anything was chiseled in stone. But, again, you would know that if you read what I wrote. Happy to agree to disagree. Just sharing my experience.

The USCIS has issued a Ruling, effective April 17, 2007, that gives adjudicators flexibility in determining the length of time a petitioner or applicant has to respond to a Request for Evidence (RFE) or a Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID). Currently, the standard deadline for response to an RFE is twelve weeks (84 days). NOIDs must be responded to within thirty days. Under this regulation, the USCIS will determine how much time should be permitted in any given case, with maximum possible time being what is now the standard response deadline. That is, adjudicators will set deadlines for both RFEs and NOIDs that could be up to twelve weeks in case of RFEs or up to thirty days for NOIDs. No extensions of time are permitted.

I'm pretty sure the 84 days is the typical maximum deadline that applicants have to respond to an RFE.

 

The RFE I received stated at the bottom:  Processing of your Form I-129F. will resume upon receipt of your response.  If you have not heard from USCIS within 60 days of responding, you may contact the USCIS Contact Center (UCC) at 1-800-375-5283.

 

As to whether the "out of normal processing times" clock starts over with an RFE, I have no idea.

I think it is the same as submitting it over the phone, except when you do it online you get the response via email, rather than through the mail.

How long is it taking for the approval to leave California? We were approved on the 12th but as of today, it still hasn't been sent to NVC? Any clue of an estimate?

I was approved on the 20th Sept and it arrived at NVC on 8th Oct then assigned a number on the 14th Oct

Give NVC 14-21days to get your case number..

Our RFE requires a signature and a YES NO space to check.

 

My fiance white-out the answer because he checked NO first and the answer was yes.

 

We include an statement /cover letter with the answer and his signature again just to be sure but I'm still nervous about the white-out part.

No it wont go in transit until next week as i was assigned a number on the 14th so missed the batch that was sent out last week

My fiancé called USCIS yesterday because they exceeded their initial 45 days extension after we submitted a ticket. Now they're asking us to wait for additional 30 days.

 

I get that they do background checks more thoroughly, but this is straight up an abuse of power and they know it. We've been waiting for 264 days, we have nothing to hide, none of us has criminal records, we've never been married, and none of us have children. Why us? I've lost all hope at this point. I'm afraid our case will look like the infamous 460 days one.

If only you read the threads as I've answer that same complaint/question. Educate yourself by expanding your reading material.

Did he sign the white-out/wrong answer? It’s very important to sign especially if he made any changes.
