Hello everyone! Long time lurker first time poster. I've noticed that the processing time listed for K-1 visas at CSC are now saying February 8th and I have a NOA 1 date of February 7th. I know the dates listed on this website are user generated but does anyone have experience seeing a later date than theirs and still not having an NOA 2?? I know it's only one day different but I've been ruminating and need reassurance 😂 Is it possible some case workers are processing different dates or something? Thank you in advance for easing my anxiety. x

As noted, the times here on VJ are from users, and these are just a small percentage of the actual number of I-129f petition filers.

Also like you said, some of the USCIS workers are faster, have simpler cases than others, more stream lined petitioned, less or more RFE's to deal with, take vacation, get sick, ect... All cause varying time lines.

There have been people on here who, let's say filed in November 2017 but haven't received NOA2 but people who filed in January 2018 have received their NOA2... it's frustrating but there are a lot of factors to consider.

08/15/2014 : Met Online

06/30/2016 : I-129F Packet Sent

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

02/03/2017 - Married

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

So many good points! It's definitely much more complicated than it seems on the surface. It does make me feel better that it varies but I'm seriously hoping that people who have been waiting since last year will hear back very soon. Thank you!! x

Just to correct one thing...nobody files for a K-1 visa with USCIS. They file an I-129F petition, which is then sent to CSC currently. Once approved, that petition is sent to NVC then the embassy/consulate. Only after approval of the petition can one qualify to apply for a K-1 visa.

Petitions are not visas. It may sound a bit pedantic to bring it up, but there are several circumstances when the difference is very important.

No question is stupid as we all have been at the starting line much like you are now. What I have learned is don't set your expectations too high and you won't have that far to fall when you hit a hiccup in the journey. Be nimble. Good luck.

OBTW, there is a sub-forum for the UK that you want to be familiar with. Lots of experts over there so lurk until your approval and they will then come in handy for the Embassy Interview phase. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

Things you can do now instead of obsessing over timelines.

  • order police certificate
  • get your shot record and additional shots if you  need any
  • get 4 passport photos
  • get your health summary printout from you GP

All of the above are needed for the medical exam. Don't wait until your case is finally in London to start planning for this. NHS can be tediously slow to accommodate you.

Read the details here from the clinic website http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us-bring.htm

Processing times  are different for everybody. For me, the longest was after my interview, I had to wait almost 2 weeks for my passport to be stamped with my visa. Otherwise everything was almost exactly as stated on the USCIS website.

Update:  my conditional green card expired August 15 of this year. I just went for my next biometrics appointment and was granted an extension on my expired green card while I await my new 10-year one. It could take months,  but with the extension on my conditional green card, it doesn’t really matter. As long as you have paid all your fees and did everything correctly, it’ll be ok. Good luck!
