Why?

Because yesterday, he pleaded guilty to multiple counts of violating campaign finance law, tax evasion, and bank fraud. The latter two are personal problems. But the campaign finance violation is where Trump comes in.

How?

Remember Stormy Daniels? She's the porn star who claims to have had an affair with Trump. And who Cohen paid $130,000 to so she'd keep quiet about it. Yesterday, Cohen told the court 'Trump made me do it.' Something Trump has denied in the past. Cohen also admitted to paying to make a story about another alleged Trump affair go away. And said he did these things "for the principal purpose of influencing the election."

So what is the crime?  Don't crimes have to be related to actual statutes and not based on TDS?

The google machine seems to think the law they are referring to is the Federal Election Act.

Sure, like Dershowitz said, Cohen may have violated the Federal Election Campaign Act with a contribution that was too large, but that does not mean the same is true of Trump.  Now according to Dershowitz, if Trump paid him back, then Cohen plead guilty to something that isn't even a crime which may be the case here.  Regardless, just more TDS narrative with the ultimate goal of getting rid of Trump.  I wonder if the MDL and those with TDS have considered that getting rid of Trump puts Pence in the WH?  If you look at the two politically, Trump is way more centrist than Pence.

This is what I wonder also. Pence has been silently waiting in the background keeping out of the news, hoping for his big chance 😂😩😂. I agree a little terrifying. Honestly I am not really a fan of any polictians that we have been given as choices in general over the past couple of years. I agree with some republican beliefs and then some democratic beliefs. The two sides are gone to such extremes in recent years 🙄.

I disagree with the two sides bit.  The extreme reaction really seems to be coming from the Left, but it is hard to see since so many or the mainstream media sources are biased to the Left as well.  Personally, I don't really care who is in the WH, we (the U.S.) survived eight years of Clinton, and Bush, and Obama, and we will survive 4-8 years of Trump.  What really scares me is those on the Left that are advocating tearing up the Constitution in order to get their way.  I don't remember the last mainstream Right wing person that advocating eliminating the Constitution.

The other day, Mark Levin (also a lawyer) had Bradley Smith, former FEC chairman (and a law professor), on his program, and asked him point-blank if the campaign finance plea indicates anything illegal.  Smith cited several regulatory parameters and said no.

 

The two agreed that a plea-bargain does not create legal precedent, because it's not a ruling by a judge.  Plea-bargains are made all the time and for any possible number of reasons; people often plead to charges when they're not guilty of those allegations, simply to avoid more serious charges (or to get them dropped) that they actually might be guilty of.  Plea-bargains are routinely made when someone is out of money or just wants his "legal nightmare" to end.  (Look at your own local courts.)

 

The two further agreed that nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) are executed all the time.
