Call at day 215 of ur NOA1 hard copy

There are two dates on the NOA1 hard copy. The received date and the notice date. He said to go by the notice date.

I called this morning and was told to call back on my 7th month, which she mentioned August 22nd will be my 7th month. I think they go by received date? My receive date is 01/22, Notice date 01/25

Right, then I don't know lol I'm guessing that each officer is gonna tell us something different? Who knows. That's pretty frustrating. Like they can't even give the same information out to everyone?

Unfortunately, it's called the misinformation line for a very good reason.

Have you asked to speak to an immigration officer/supervisor? I just now realized I hadn't responded to your message. Sorry :(

It is pretty straight forward, I go by the USCIS app that counts days. When we called the first time, the lady said to call on our 7th month too, but then the other T2 said to call at 215. Also, you can use this website to see what date is ready to inquire, and that date is according to the new website. Right now it says they take inquiries from January 8th (notice date). We are NOA Jan4th and our notice date (new website date) is Jan9th = we can inquire tomorrow, on our day 215.

You mean to speak to an officer via their 0800 number or something else?

I called today and the guy who I talking to offered to transfer me to another agent, I'm guessing that's the infamous tier 2 lol so I said yeah. But since I was calling via Skype I gave them my fiancée's number for the calll back. They said they'd call in 120 minutes. Unfortunately my fiancee will be in a meeting around the time they call. But let's see that happens. Hopefully they'll call after the meeting lol.

And no worries lol. I'm still trying to gather information here.

Well, according to their site, receipt date is equivalent to received date, not notice date. You can check it here: (https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/more-info)

Like @Jaquelyn said, it's misinformation everywhere.

Yeah, that is right, definitely misinformation. But it has been argued many times here on VJ, that they changed the dates on the new website for inquiry purposes. At the end, it won't matter as much if you inquire on 210 or 215, they will still make you wait a bit longer on both cases ☺️I will let you guys know tomorrow after "the call" 🤢

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to ask about NVC thread for those who got approved. Is this correct one:

There are only 4 topics so I was just wondering if there is different forum topic.

Thank you in advance,

Whish you all approvals this week!

That's the one. If another starts they will be merged as VJ Monitors hate for more then one thread on the same subject. Bookmark it till it's time.

My estimate is only 7% of the filers are vj members and only 60-70% of those fill out timelines.  But it does give enough of a sampling to let you know what dates they are mostly working.

Timelines can be arbitrary at best. There are other tools to add to your tool box.

There are several tools available to you. Go up to Immigration Timelines on the blue ribbon above and select it. Once you are on the next page looked to your left and you will see a box that states, "find similar timelines" and select it. A list will populate with those who are processing close to your timeline. When they start to change you will soon be behind them. Also, there is another place you can go and follow others who are processing the same time you are and for the same Embassy. Go to the blue ribbon at the top of this page and select "portals". Scroll down the left-hand side of the page till you get to VJ "your country's name" Timelines. Just below it you'll see "K-1" so you select it and out pops a window with others from your country.

I just took a quick look at our application and noticed we've entered some of the beneficiary addresses incorrectly.

Listed last address as current address (mistook mailing address section as current address), and entered one of the dates on a previous address incorrectly as well (reads as having a 2 year gap between 2 addresses).

Any advice on what we should do. I'm expecting this will result in an RFE, but is there anything we can do, should we try and amend it before they look at our case?

Our NOA1 new website is Jan 29th so no idea if they've already started on our case or if it's still too early.

To correct the mistake on a form you have already filed, you will have to wait until you receive the application receipt notice that tells you that your application has been received. A unique receipt number will be assigned to your case once the USCIS receives it. This number will help you contact the USCIS regarding your case. USCIS will be able to locate your case using this number.

Once you receive this notice, you can call the National Customer Service Center and tell them that you have made a mistake on your form. You can also request them to fix the error. If the change is a minor one, the customer service agents will be able to fix it. At times, they may need some time to fix the error, in which case they will provide you with a reference number. You need to quote this number when you call back to check if the error has been fixed.

The customer service agents may not be able to help you if the error is a serious one. In this case, you will have to send a letter to the USCIS quoting your receipt number and explaining the mistake. You may also have to fill, sign and send a new form with supporting documents along with this letter, as per the instructions provided by the immigration agent who spoke to you.

USCIS may accept the correction and start processing your case if your letter reaches the agency on time. But if it is too late and if the agency has already started to work on your case, your letter may not be considered. In this case, you will be sent a Request for Evidence. If you receive a letter asking for more info, you can send the documents the agency has requested and corrections if any, within the time the USCIS has provided. You will not have to pay any additional fee for this.

But if your mistake is a serious one and if your case is rejected, you will have to start the application process again and also pay the fee again.
