What is the latest info on ROC Interviews?

I heard the same thing, but the latest VJ member timelines are still showing a lot of adjudications this month without an interview.

? That's the norm when you file an N-400 while your ROC is pending.

One can file for naturalization under the 3 year rule starting 90 days prior to the 3 year anniversary of becoming a green card holder, assuming 1) they are married to a USC for the entire period period, and 2) they meet all other requirements for naturalization.

Naturalization always requires an interview.

It is just a rumor. It is absolutely impossible to interview everyone.

They're interviewing all marriage-based AOS applicants now (no waiver for K-1 applicants anymore: https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/HTML/PolicyManual-Volume7-PartA-Chapter5.html)...so it is possible. It's also a cause of very severe backlogs.

My application was marriage-based and it was approved without an interview. So not all.

My husband got his ROC approved May 31st with no interview.  He has not filed for citizenship.  That's the most recent data I can give.

And earlier months for NCS  

most recent updates are there. Majority approved with no interview, some got RFE, while others still waiting. So no, I believe it’s just a rumor ( as of right now)

Since October last year, it is mandatory to interview AOS employment-based applicants. AOS marriage based interview is not mandatory. It is at the discretion of USCIS to waive an interview. However, they conduct the interviews but for a small pool of applicants. The link you have shared basically outlines the authority of USCIS it does not mean that they will interview everyone. It is simply not applicable practically to conduct interviews for every AOS applicant. The AOS recent threads in VJ provides a clear indication regarding the interview.

I understand the change for employment-based AOS. I'm just saying the USCIS policy guide does not state that AOS from K-1 is eligible for an interview waiver anymore. Maybe it hasn't fully been circulated yet, or maybe they aren't applying the change to people who filed before the change (that policy guide page was updated to remove the K-1 piece just under 2 months ago).

The link is their policy guide on what is generally eligible for an interview waiver and what is not. It is not stating the authority of them to do so...it's a policy setting a rule.

"All adjustment of status applicants must be interviewed by an officer unless the interview is waived by USCIS. ^[1] "

 

For marriages outside a K-1, there was never an interview waiver available to begin with (barring exceptional circumstances, which can always apply to any case).

 

Edit: To clarify, yes, it's always at the discretion of USCIS to waive an interview. It's just AOS from K-1 status was explicitly removed as being generally eligible.

Maybe not all. However, IMO, many are being interviewed. Hence, the long delays.
