I'm not sure this will answer your current dilemma but you'll need most of this for interview preparation. Also, go over to the sub-forum for Germany and ask some of the folks there as they may have a better handle then us who know very little about the processing in Germany of your case.

Go to the top of the page, blue ribbon, select "forums", scroll 3/4 of the page down and fine your country/region.

Thank you :)

I actually have all of this ready and picture perfect in a folder. Just the medical exam I was waiting with.

All the great advice in this forum helped me a lot to prepare everything. And know I receive a REF on a document I would have never thought it could be questioned.

Its really frustrating.

Ive also posted my question in the German section in the meantime ... its so hard to believe nobody else had an issue with that if it really is the divorce degree document, which should be the same for everybody in Germany and therefore I would think the USCIS has seen it a thousand times before.

Maybe it's someone's first day. Mmmmm.  Anyways, you are doing the right thing with going to the German sub-forum.

Call USCIS. Tell them you would like a copy of the RFE because you are on a deadline that can’t be extended. A tier 2 is the only one that has access to those systems. They can also read it to you and let you know what they are requesting.

Also there is some history from others. Here on VJ they have created a spreadsheet where couples have added their RFE information and it makes for a good primer while you are waiting for your RFE.

Here is the link to the RFE thread:

Thanks you so much! What is the phone number??

We just received an RFE requesting that my fiancé submit evidence of her intention to marry me once she arrives in the US. In the application, we already wrote a joint letter with both of our signatures on it stating our intention to marry. Apparently, this isn’t good enough for USCIS, as they want her own letter. In addition to other evidence, we wanted to have her send in a signed statement, but I’m not sure if they need an original letter or just a scanned, signed copy. My fiancé is in Kazakhstan, and I am in the United States. Obviously, this would just go faster if she scanned it, but we don’t want to make any more mistakes. Does anyone know if the letter of intent to marry has to be the original? The RFE states that the RFE must be the original, but of course it is vague about this. Any help would be appreciated!

Hey there! The number on the one in November is not the right one (it is for once it is approved according to the woman who answered the phone). I know some member get through the call fairly quickly since they know what numbers to hit and what not. Can you help on this at all?

Ok @Greenbaum I just spoke to a tier 2 person and she said she cannot disclose the reason for the RFE? is that normal?

From what I saw on this forum it is a bit of a toss up of what tier 2 agent you get, some would read you RFE, others just retreat into safety "strictly by the rules" ivory tower and make you wait for paper copy.

scanned is 100% okay.  USCIS made an official policy a few years ago that wet signatures are no longer required. Same applies to documents submitted to the embassy.

I had an RFE in August of this year and I got a Tier 2 on the phone. I told them that the I know I am under a deadline and that per the regulations the time to respond to the RFE could not be extended. I told them I wanted to get working on my RFE immediately and I politely  asked them to fax it to me to my fax number (there are multiple free apps you can install on your smartphone that will give you a free fax number).   They obliged and faxed it to me immediately.

Btw, if you have any trouble getting in transferred to a Tier 2 operator, Here is a another way to get a Tier 2 on the telephone - call first thing in the morning when USCIS opens - let them know you spoke to an agent last night and they were going to transfer you to a Tier 2 but Tier 2 wasn;t taking phone calls and they advised you to call first thing in the morning.
