Hey, I got my NOA2 June 9th date. My fiance will also be interviewed at Mumbai consulate. We are from North India so we are trying to figure out also the process. If we have to do medical in Mumbai as well or we can do it in Delhi. Unfortunately, New Delhi consulate doesn't do immigrant and K visa interviews anymore.

Hello Everyone, 

 

So I have a question. I have read different things on here regarding this. When I call NVC and get the case # from them, can I schedule an interview with that number even if the case hasn't reached the consulate yet? Will there be anything that will stop me from scheduling an interview online like would the system say your case hasn't reached Consulate yet so you can't schedule an interview. I am asking because there is a long wait to get an interview at our embassy in Mumbai and the current date available is August 10th. So, I am trying to get an interview scheduled for the end of August because that's when I have a good 2-week break from school and I want to go there with my fiance for his interview. I am pretty sure the file will reach the consulate before the end of August. Thank you.

I am also from Mumbai Embassy. How did you get to know tge earliest appointment date - is this from the page where on the left hand side below schedule an appointment the earliest appointment available date is given or there is any specific appointment wait for K1 visa?

 Congrats on your NOA2.😊....As far as I gathered info, we can do medicals at our home city, I’ m planning at Hyderabad, ..... good luck to us for further process😊... Hoping that it would be a smooth sail

Hi, I think I was trying to fill out a form (maybe DS 160)  which I left when they asked for the Case # ( from NVC) and on the left-hand side it was saying something like first available appointment August 10th. I will attach a picture I took. I was just trying to see if I could look at the times right now. I figured since the Delhi Consulate no longer processes immigrant and K visas that means Mumbai might have gotten much busier and probably a long wait time.

Yes, this is exactly the page that I meant. I think you should wait you might get an earlier appointment as it might change or you can call the embassy n ask them whether can you change the appointment date after booking it. 

Answering to your original question I think you should at least wait till it says ready at nvc to book your appointment.

Each of you please use this link. All your questions can be answered from the Packet 3 pdf from Mumbai. I have looked over the information and every one of your questions are answered there.

 

Now, you are all new here just like others. Your trying to do something for the first time and it can be nerve racking at best. But you're asking the wrong people. You need to be in the sub-forum for your Embassy where there are others processing like you and there others who have completed their journey but have stayed around to help others. Find them here.   The folks here are just trying to get their arms around the process for their Embassy. They may not know what is required at yours so asking can be fruitless.
