PI is usually pretty good about turning around 221(g)'s. Probably a couple of days once they have the new document. Please follow the instructions closely that are spelled out in the 221(g). Good luck and Congratulations. I hope all those who helped you a long the way gave you good information saving you time and expense.

When you say "They said just mail it" was that the CO that stated that. Did your fiancée receive any paperwork with instructions of what is needed? I'm asking because this is not normal procedure.

No paperwork

That's strange that she wasn't handed anything. Maybe she should check her email and her email "junk" folder as this is very unnatural for USEM not to hand or send instructions. Well I guess you'll proceed as you are doing. Be sure she includes her case number when returning the document so they can marry the document to the right case preventing further delays.

Definitely will. She said the CO acted like she was having a " bad day " but we get through it

I finally received notice from the NVC this week about how they received my petition and will now be sending it to the embassy in Ethiopia. I keep hearing about these packets that the embassy sends to direct the fiancee on what to do next. However my lawyer said we can now go ahead on fill out the ds 160. And then we can pay the fee and do the health check up. Does anyone know if this is true? Or do we need to wait on contact from the embassy?

Read these links please and go to the sub-forum and look for those from your country who are willing to help. I applaud you for not trusting what you Lawyer is saying. He may be right, but you don't want to find that out when you are attempting to schedule and execute your interview only to be turned away because you haven't followed the steps.

When you are at the VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Ethiopia most there will help answer your questions for the processing of your visa using their personal experience.

Get the Ethiopia K1 Embassy instructions at http://ethiopia.usembassy.gov/visas/fianc-visas-k/k-1-fiance-/-k3--spouse-visa-appointment-checklist.html as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the this website as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

Hello fellow Marchers we had our interview on Friday the 16th (my birthday) and our visa was approved. For everyone still waiting for the NOA2 I feel you ❤️ keep your head up it is almost over. I was able to attend with my fiance in London no problems. For all London appointments you may park at the Waitrose free with purchase but be aware that over 2 hours says 90 pound charge. The interviewer asked 2 or 3 questions and they only wanted my affidavit and employment letter (I had all paystubs and tax returns and w2 forms available but they only took the letter). We had to wait outside in a very long line then another longer line inside until we went up the 2nd floor. I would suggest getting there early as our appointment was 10am and we got there by 9.20 and didnt make it upstairs until after 10 (wasnt a problem though).

That's crazy that they have you wait so long. The Philippines uses staggered times to appear at the embassy based on your appointment time. So if your appointment was at 10 they say do not arrive any sooner then 9:45. Once 10 appears then you are ushered in and the process for your group begins and most times the group for the time slot before you have already gone though the process. This embassy process thousands of applicants a day. I've been there and saw it with my own two eyes. Very organized and they are not afraid to improve on their processing.

Yes that's what the instructions say for London as well. What is funny to us is that when we got to the front of the 2nd line (where they give the number sticker to watch for on the screens and windows to be called up) another employee came up to the ladies checking paperwork to talk ####### about the outside lady taking her sweet time and eating her sandwich as she checked passports. Never know what is going to happen.
