233 total; 21 since RFE response for us. They keep telling me it will take up to 60 days from receiving the response to get an action. Tier1 submitted an "outside of processing time request" for us last week  in which we got an email that said it will take up to 45 days for an action. So basically 60 days. No choice but to wait it out.

Asking my congressmen is not an option since I live in the good ol' red as can be state of Texas; our congressmen will have no interest in helping a gay couple with immigration. 🙄

60 days!!!! 😨😭 Why  so long , i read few ppl got approved with in 2-3 days .

why we are getting so unlucky here 😭

I wish you all the good luck though, and yeah in Texas its surely not a good idea to go to congressmen lol.

Shall I ask my fiance to call them up too..so that thy can submit same request for us too?

Thanks! Same to you!

To be honest, I doubt it'll help. Our RFE specially said to wait 60 days before calling. Pretty sure it was a standard paragraph on all RFEs. Of course I didn't and don't want to believe it so called anyway.

Maybe we have the same agent. 🙄

I can't help to wonder that but obviously can't do anything about it even if it was true so I try to not to think about it. There have been plenty of same sex couples approved but never know what "convictions" an individual agent has.  I've been told in other groups RFEs have been more around the 1 month mark for approval. Guess I'll find out in a week or so but resigned that if they decide to take the full 60 days, there's not a blasted thing I can do other than kick myself in the butt for not researching others experiences around dating apps before submitting the application. But it's too late for that so what good does that do? It's all quite frustrating.

But on the flip side - I know some who applied when the processing time was only 3-5 months then had to watch that slip to 5-7 months before finally getting approved close to 7.  Ugh!

seriously, we wre having all the patience till now and we actually did all the research before finalizing our package, so its even more frustrating to see useless RFE fr Passport photo.

and now again this wait game.

We are usually not thinking much about it now and busy wit our work mostly . Lets see how long it goes more....pls keep posting here about ur progress...thanks :)

Yes, some can be approved in 2-3 days, some 2-3 weeks, some 2-3 months and I have seen some 2-3 years. Having to wait is tuff. But keeping busy makes this process a little more tolerable. Just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

You will get an email when your case is in transit to the the embassy. I emailed NVC to register my email and to also enquire when I will get my case number and after I called them and received my number they then replied back to my email to tell

me my case number

Hang in there, @Knome @Alan&Alex--you'll get yours soon! Our RFE turned around in 10 days so it's not an across-the-board block on same sex couples.

222 days for us, 15 since the RFE with no reply, same simple reason as @Knome because USCIS lost my photo somewhere along the way.  I spoke with a Tier 2 officer yesterday who submitted the same "outside of normal processing time" request as you did and he said we would not hear back on that for a couple weeks, but that the RFE might be reviewed before then. He couldn't provide an answer as to why people from early-mid May are being accepted before RFE's from March are reviewed.  It's a ludicrous process, but hoping some positive news comes along soon.  Hey, maybe you'll at least get to wave bye to Ted Cruz in a few weeks.  Feel free to conduct that wave using just one finger :) Best of luck!

Thanks! Good luck to you guys too!

On Ted Cruz, 😂. Did my part at the voting booth today. I just hope we're not forced to wait long enough to elicit the help of a potential new senator. 😅

So since we still haven't heard anything at all we decided to call USCIS on Friday (NOA1 March 26th). Well, as we expected we just got the standard answer of still being "within normal processing times" and that we're having to wait until 7,5 months have passed to start the inquiry. We will try the online inquiry on Tuesday anyways, as that is the date that we can start the inquiry according to the USCIS website processing times. I'm so frustrated at this point. Why is the website stating a different date for inquiry than they will tell you on the phone and why are May filers being processed now and we're being left behind? I used the tools from VJ to estimate our NOA2 date and it was way off, we should've long received our NOA2.

Does anyone know if it makes a difference to do the online inquiry vs just calling them, do both generally have the same outcome?

Here is to hoping that next week will be the week for all remaining March filers, if there are any left besides us 😩
