Nope my status is “new card being produced”, my understanding is that next update might be “card mailed to me”, not sure if that will have tracking number or not.. and from then onwards within a couple of days card in hand.. I thought you might have received some update in the status by now..

So I just did a refresh and it says -  Card was picked up by the United States Postal Service!

and we have a tracking number!

Yours should be any day now!

Hey All - just got the email for evidence to be faxed. I faxed it.

What has everyone's updates looked like online?

Today's updates for me are "we sent a response to your request" and "your request to have your case expedited, was completed".

Does that mean it is accepted? Or i still need to see an update referencing my evidence was received? Any insight would be so appreciated to better understand what these updates actually mean haha

"your request was completed" means that they looked at it and decided that they need to see more evidence (this is a good thing, and you already faxed it, along with a cover letter I hope).

There will probably not be an update that they received your evidence. I don't think anyone got one of those.

Your next update will be, "we approved your EAD petition", or "we denied your expedite request SR#".

Thanks for clarifying! Yes, I did include a cover letter, the offer letter, USCIS' email and faxed it like an hour after I got their email this morning.

Fingers crossed I'm not a denial - it would be such a lost opportunity!

Hey there! I put my request in at like 430 PM on March 14th. I didnt hear anything or see anything until last wednesday when I saw that it was finally assigned to an officer Tuesday, March 19th. Then this morning, I got the email from USCIS which made me check my status online (got no status update) saying the two status changes today.

The email basically outlined the different categories that warrant an expedite and it tells you to send your evidence for which ever category you are requesting the expedite (in my case a job offer so severe financial loss to person) and that email/letter to a fax number attention a few letters and numbers (I'm assuming that's the officer's code so they deliver or forward to that person). I also attached a letter explaining what i faxed them, why this job offer is so important to me and why I am important/unique to this u.s. employer and the date they've asked me to start (which is tomorrow) but I explained they are willing to hold my spot another week or two if i can prove there is movement in my expedite.

Hope you get something really soon and hope we both get our approval's ASAP! :)

@SMK 89 you are good to go. I don't think there have been many denials in your situation (most stem from not explaining well over the phone, so before they even ask for any evidence). Allow for 2-3 weeks for them to make a decision (could be less, just plan for the worst, hope for the best), it will likely be approved, 1 week or so after that to receive the EAD in the mail.

@fromNZ once the old USCIS site shows that the request was "completed", you'll know that they mailed a letter. Check your email spam folder just in case; if they mailed it, it takes an oddly long time to arrive, give it two weeks, hopefully less.

PS. has there been a general trend of how long it takes to see the approved status after the evidence is faxed (pending everything goes well?)

Looks to be about two weeks on average, give of take. Could be far longer, could be a week total.

I throw this out there for everyone reading:

The obvious: cover letter explaining why not accepting this job offer (or not maintaining your job, whatever the situation) will result to a severe financial loss, and the job offer letter itself.

Supporting evidence: if you used the mounting bills as your reason for financial loss, you should include them. If you used the "I pay for a lot of household expenses", you should include proof of that, like the tax return and W2s showing the family income breakdown. If you used the "this is a rare opportunity for my field", you should include your diploma/degree/other. None of this is required, but it can't hurt.

Personally, I included all I-765 evidence as well, like copies of my passport pages, drivers license, etc., including NOA for my I-765. If the officer doesn't have to dig out your I-765 documentation (since that's what's going to be approved, if approved), then I hoped to make their lives easier.

Also note that you can fax this online. Google "online fax". Much cheaper than going to Staples, Office Depot, or USPS.
