I don't think I would have gotten a response if it wasn't for my congressman's office. I highly suggest you reach out to someone asap! IT doesn't hurt and you get answers more quickly. Call your local US.Rep and visit their office in person if you can. Or call your Senator and fill out their privacy release form so they can help you. Just make sure you only use one contact because multiple offices can create confusion.

Good luck!

I have contacted my Senator a few days ago, and she told me yesterday that she asked USCIS to respond to my concerns.

Did USCIS ever acknowledge receiving your fax by the way?

Thanks!

Wasn't sure if it sent the first few times. Used an online service so I was a bit iffy. The last time I went to Staples and I think it worked fine

Hi there, just found this thread... although I am not an EAD filer,  but a I-130 filer at USCIS stage, I thought I just join...

My timeline so far:

Applied for I-130 on November 22nd (electronically)

NOA1 November 22nd

Request to expedite on December 12th due to financial hardship

Message from USCIS (TX) to request further information on December 16th

Info emailed on December 16th

Email informing expedite was accepted on December 16th and we will hear again with 45 days.

No further message so far...

Our son's (14years) timeline (adoptive son of my husband, USC):

Applied for I-130 on November 22nd (electronically)

NOA1  November 23rd

Request to expedite on December 12th

due to financial hardship

Message from USCIS NBC Missouri to request additional information by fax on December 19th

Info faxed on December 20th

No further info so far....

Both cases on case tracker say that expedite request is closed

We called USCIS to find out if the fax for our son has arrived, agents said they could not see that info and we have not been able to speak to a tier2 officer as first 3 calls they had closed the lines for the day and on fourth try they said that calls from outside of US could not be transferred....

Reading previous posts on this I am a little more on ease as it seems that it's their standard procedure to just close the cases.

Still a little worried though that my case will be expedited but our sons is hanging somewhere in nirvana...

Just praying that someone is working on both cases 🙏

Hello to you 3,

Congrats on the new EAD!

I have been going through the same process, and I was wondering if USCIS ever acknowledged reception of your faxed documents?

Also, did you contact your Senator at all?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you :)

Nope, they refused to ever acknowledge they'd received the fax. Super frustrating! I spoke to several USCIS officers over the phone, but they wouldn't tell me anything.

I didn't contact my Senator. I was thinking about doing so, but then I saw the case tracker had updated.

Hello! I filed under severe financial loss, and I included:

- Job offer letter

- Proof of husband's full-time student status (unofficial transcripts)

Good luck! :)

Jan 8: We ordered your new card for Receipt Number x

Then it changed to 'we approved your form I-765' on the following day I believe...

Jan 10: We mailed your new card for your Form I-765.

---------------------

Jan 8: We approved your Form I-131, Application for Travel Document.

I guess this means the combo card is on its way :) Hopefully my SSN will follow shortly after.

Don't wait, just reach out! It will take a few days for them to collect your information and submit an inquiry on your behalf. They have contacts they can call and email directly to get things moving.

Still no update since EAD expedite approved. Made a Congressional Inquiry today. Hoping for a change soon because start date is approaching

I actually went to the SSA office the next day lol. I read one too many stories online about people not receiving their card, etc. so I figured I would check the status of the case in person. Turns out, there was nothing created under my name so I went ahead and applied then and there (with I-94, EAD, Birth Certificate and Passport in hand). They gave me a sheet that shows I applied and a guarantee it will come within 2 weeks to give to my employer. Might be worth checking an office to see if your application was indeed forwarded to the SSA so you're not stuck waiting too long!
