Hi everyone,

I called USCIS and also contacted a congressman to expedite my EAD. Here's my timeline:

July 10 - Online case status changed to "request is completed"

July 10 - Congressman office forwarded me USCIS email saying they will work on it and will request more evidence.

Here's my problem, I never received any emails from USCIS. I mean, from the beginning, even tho I submitted G-1145 form for every case, all I got are only mail notices.

So July 11 - I called USCIS and the lady on the phone read me the fax number and attn. info for faxing more evidence, I did it on the same day. Still no emails.

July 15 - today - I called them to verify my email address, they said it's correct, and said that it doesn't necessarily come with email. I asked, don't I need to attach the email notice as part of the fax? She said she's not sure...

So what can I do now, except for waiting?

You can update the notification in uscis.gov if you have account with them

Not sure if this helps but I never got an email either. Instead I received the fax instructions via USPS about 6 days after the status changed to "request is completed". They do specifically instruct to attach the notice with your fax so I'd give it a couple days in case they sent the notice by snail mail.

Some people get letters requesting the evidence via regular mail rather than an email.

Just received an email (on Saturday?!) with the official approval notice of my expedite request so here to share a successful timeline so far:

June 6th: expedite requested (1st time) based on financial loss (I had a job offer in writing)

June 12th: asked to fax evidence

June 13th: faxed job offer and cover letter

June 18th: received RFIE for birth certificate

June 19th: overnighted birth certificate

June 22nd: called to 're-activate' expedite request

June 26th: received e-mail that expedite was on hold because of missing biometrics, biometrics immediately got scheduled

July 3rd: Walk in biometrics

July 8th: called to 're-activate' expedite request again (added the category of benefits for the US because the job offer was for a non-profit, unsure if this helped?)

July 13th: Received email that expedite request was approved, status online changed to 'card is being produced'

Good luck everybody.

Do you mind sharing what team/division you were asked to fax your evidence to?

Yeah that's why I was curious haha. I also sent my evidence to Div 5 Tm 1 and on the day your status updated to "Card in Production" my husband got an email saying they anticipated a delay in completing our case due to "workload factors unrelated to your case"... Oh well. I've pretty much given up at this point.

Oh no! I'm sorry that really blows... I don't even know what you would be expected to do in such a situation? The point of an expedite request is that they don't let these 'other factors' delay your process (because regular non-expedited request are already delayed by this!) right? Ughh. Did they tell you how long to wait for or something at least?

Nope. Nothing at all. I've read on here that it could take up to 60 days but I've never actually heard that from immigration directly so who knows.

Does the online status under case-history say that the expedite request has been completed? An open ending is maybe even worse than a denial :(

So weird, like I mentioned above, On July 10, my case status changed to “your request to have your case expedited was assigned to an officer for response”“we sent a response to your request to have your case expedited”“your request to have your case expedited was completed”

And today, July 17, I have these statuses all over again! What's wrong...

Yes, it's had that history three times now. When they first send me the email requesting evidence, when they sent email confirming they received my fax, and then last Friday when they sent an email saying they were too busy to approve or deny my expedite request (yet they somehow had time to pull my file, verify they don't need any more evidence and send me that email). But as of right now the last update is at "Case was completed". My actual Case Status is still at "Case was Received"
