Status on CEAC changed to "Ready" on Friday afternoon CET (Feb 2nd). Got packet 3 in the mail today, but the cover letter is dated Feb 5th,  so pretty much 1,5 working days for them to generate the letter, another to send and another to receive it...? :)

@Lotts@Lana&Tyler @Jolie&Charles : I believe that here in NL we're only asked to take our shirt/top off. Now, I don't know if this would include bra, but I remember my friend from the May thread telling me that his fiance was able to "decline" the part of taking her top off and it was fine. I'm going to double check, because I don't want any doctor (only males at this clinic too) touching my private parts!

Thank you for the Tipp. If we truly have to strip completely naked and get boobs and coochie examined I will try to decline as well.

There was a disclaimer on the form about 'declining' parts of the exam and that this could result in the refusal of your visa... not to scare you - just that I did notice it on the UK paperwork, so better to tell you in advance in case its the same for you, but like I said, even though it had that disclaimer they did not examine my 'disco balls'.

It would be great if Germany was the same. We shall see, I can't seem to find any info about Germany in particular. I know I cry like a baby here, but we already undergo so much and then they take the last bit of pride we have and intrude our last bit of privacy. For me and my family, genitalia is sacred and you should always have the power to control who's allowed to see, touch them. I'm mad they're robbing us of that freedom to decide what to do with those parts of our bodies. While I understand that they are concerned about diseases, the standard blood test should give they the info they need.

ok privacy rant is over now. Sorry guys.

Thamks for your info, gave me a little hope that maybe I'll be lucky. And I truly wish you all the best for this process. I include you in my prayers. Your family deserves to be happy and whole again.

I hope it is easy and comfortable for you.

I just called to book a trip for my fiance' to fly back with me on the 27th, but the representative with the airline said he would need a round trip ticket since he is not a permanent resident. K1 is an immigrant visa. He shouldn't need a return ticket?! Any insight? The airline is Cathay Pacific.

They don't need a round trip ticket but I'd find a different airline if they insist

So approximately 12 hours before I know if our interview is successful or not, exciting and terrifying times right now.

I already have my round trip booked through this airline. I don't want to change my flight at the last minute since I booked this trip so long ago. Just frustrating!

Ok, so this might not help you but I’ve had international flights (domestic too) where I needed to cancel part of the leg/trip and for the most part it’s a fairly painless process and I’ve had that part of the fare refunded to me. Might be worth speaking to the agent to see what the policy is on cancelations and refunds for the return flight.

Every time you post a picture it stays uploaded on your vj account. Since there's a max size available for each user, you just need to delete some of that stuff from time to time to be able to upload something new. You can do that on Account -> my attachments

You’re a gem.

I don’t happen to have one but like I mentioned before, you can enter the WAC # on the website and it should tell you

If there is anything on his medical history then yes, he will need a letter. Some people have used letters from their specialist/consultant if they are currently under some sort of medical care.
