Hello. My wife has filed a petition to get a date. It's been six months and one day. I'm afraid of what might happen, because what I see are cases that are approved quickly and we provide all the possible evidence. We met in person before we started the process. Can I get accurate information here? Thank you!

What petition did she file?  If she submitted the I-129F and she is your wife then she sent the wrong petition

We are not yet engaged.

So what are you? The K-1 visa is a fiancé visa, ergo you must be engaged to be married. Are you planning to marry?

You won't be able to get any updates anywhere. No one can. Once the petition is received all you can do is wait. You will not receive updates from USCIS. Nor will you  receive any information if you ask for it.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Then she is not your wife.  Don't use terminology that is not correct otherwise you will get wrong answers

I-129F petitions are taking 6 - 9 mos.

Sorry, using the translator. Anyway that stab in the chest really a wait that hurts.

one thing that u have to remember is "patience is key when you are dealing with immigration" "immigration is not the right but privilege"

Tips :

Never use wrong terms. If you say "she is your wife during the interview.. your k1 is SOL"

We all have to wait. No one has it any easier than anyone else. No one loves their fiancé/spouse any less than you love yours so we all go through the same pain. Stick around here and you will meet many others in the same position and you can share ideas on how to fill the waiting time.

Did you and her write and sign letters of intent to marry?

If so, then I'm assuming you've agreed to marry and therefore are engaged already (or else you would have lied by writing/signing it).

If not, you'll very likely get an RFE.

And yes, using "wife" at the interview or in any evidence submitted to USCIS or the embassy/CO can be an issue. They cannot issue a K-1 visa to an individual who they believe may already be married or will not marry in the US within 90 days of entry.

Well we just got in the process, presenting photos, conversations and all our history. We have the real desire to be together, we love each other and the distance began to hurt more and more as the days went by. We did not send anything about marriage.

There aren’t any visas to ‘date’ and if you haven’t sent any information confirming your intent to marry her petition will be denied.
