My wife got one because I missed the date by two days between her last residences.  If I recall it added about 3 weeks to our process.  But it was my fault and I should have had someone else review my forms before submitting them.  Someone else might have spotted the error.  Good luck.

Meaning you submitted the wrong date by 2 days for her last visit ? Did you just give the date on like a written document and it didn't match something else you submitted as supporting evidence? 3 weeks tho?? Wow that's rough :( Thank you for sharing your experience by the way.

Sorry I will try to explain better.  On the portion of the forms where my over-seas spouse had to show what her residence addresses were for the past several years I entered into the fields:  123 ABC Blvd, Cebu, PI FROM Jan 1-2012 TO Dec 5, 2012.  Then I entered for the next address: 456 DEF Blvd, Cebu, PI, FROM Dec 7, 2012. to...  See the two missing days there?  So you see it was a simple mistake but I had to correct the document and mail it back in.  I would have a friend look over the documents before sending them.  I was so tired of filling out forms that I missed this simple error.  Good luck.

Wow, 3 weeks for something like that. I can understand that it had to be investigated but still wow. Also I just read through your timeline by the way and I'm very happy it all worked out for you and your wife! I'm hoping to be able to say the same soon for my K1 with my fiance ^_^

I've seen people get RFEs to submit information that they DID submit the first time.  As if it had been lost at some point in the shuffling.  I've seen others that missed pieces that we believe should have generated RFEs that did not.  Some people submit a lot of information and get RFEs and some send very little and don't.  The most important thing is to submit a complete and accurate petition, don't miss any pieces that are listed on the form, have all the information correct.  As I said, sometimes that is no guarantee as it's possible something might get lost in the paperwork shuffle.  It's not common but it has happened.

Complete and accurate petitions seldom generate RFEs.  Follow the guidelines and it's unlikely (although possible) that you'll get the request for more.

Hi Everyone, at her interview aug 4 2017 they gave her  n paper for me to email additional text chats for 2017 because the last time I was in jama was sept 2016. they wanted more proof we were still contacting each other and wanted to know the reason for not coming in 2017. I submitted text chats and the reasons y not coming in 2017, ie saving money for wedding, plane tix, living expenses, time together traveling in usa etc. We didn't hear anything back for n week so she called the jama embassy and got n nice lady on the phone and she said the email was fine and to send her passport in. Moesha had taken it after the interview, Ceac updated on aug 25 to AP. We both called back last week and asked y is it taken so long to get the visa, they said to both of us 30 to 60 working days it takes and since we in that timeframe we can only wait. So we wait ! Like everyone..

Just for reference, that's not an RFE. That was a 221g at the interview pending additional documents. USCIS issues RFEs. NVC issues checklists. Embassies can refuse the visa under 221g (not enough information to determine visa eligibility).

Hi Guys,

I was curious about getting the input of persons who have received RFE(s). Just simple things such as what was the reason given by the USCIS, what was the RFE(s) for, how long did it delay you, etc?

Much appreciated to those sharing their experiences on this topic :D.

I'm very worried about them losing items submitted. Everyone is human and things get misplaced but still :( it's not fair to have to wait 60 days...

K+D, you only submitted the passport pages for the proof of meeting? (Just making sure it wasn't a case of lost documents or overlooked files, etc)
