In a perfect world you would create an online application, encrypt and send it, and a computer program would do the basic checking against different data bases. RFEs would only be sent out if the evidence you submitted was not enough, because the application software would not let you send the application before it was filled out properly. Any applications with red flags or hits in the databases would be reviewed further. The rest would be auto-approved, possibly they would to some sort of sampling on the auto-approved ones to make sure no mistakes were made. Adjudicators would get more time to spend on the cases that actually need some investigation. I think auto-approvals wouldn't be a risk; that's essentially what happens to those applications anyway, except now they also take up someone's time. And, beneficiaries still have to interview in the end.

Well, they are very far from perfection...

Great and easy to implement system. Its extremely baffling knowing that the system has not improved all these years and most likely will never improve, possibly a few decades from now as they get caught up on the technology that we have in 2018.

This might be a stupid question but is USCIS considered part of the state department?

That is very sad, if this was a corporation at least client would have pressured them with amount of complaints or resignations...there is no one that nags them about things and they have no standard timing even to stick to. They are not loosing anything processing it slower and they still made the same and good amount of money for it.

I just wonder how many officers work there, if it`s a big or small team. I know they have lots of different types of applications to work on, but the update on the website that they`re working on September 1st cases as of January 31st is funny...it`s March 20th!! :bonk:Let alone these stuck in July or August.

They don't care! Maybe the idea is to see how many couples will survive the torture or maybe the idea is to give couples more than enough time to make sure that they really want to marry their fiancé/fiancée

Thanks... just wondering if this clusterf* has anything to do with the massive budget cuts and hollowed out state department. Guess we can’t associate the two.

They should consider this because USCIS would even make more money from impulsive filers. These filers would lose their application fees if they ended up changing their mind during shorter processing time. I think that happens regardless of wait time but at least more people would apply for K1 visas if they see faster processing...

Yes it could certainly be a way of limiting the amount of immigrants entering the United States at any given time

Your timeline indicates the estimated time you will receive your NOA2 if everything is approved, not for your interview. As far as the form I think you can start preparing it but I think it has to be recent to when your actual interview date comes around. Not too sure, good question, because I was wondering the same, when I should get started on mine.
