Visa approved, ticket booked, totally thankful to you all!

Dear VJers,

 

I cannot believe that I get to write this post. Really! Visa approved, passport in hand and hubby just booked his ticket. In 2 weeks, we will all be together, finally! We did it, woohoo! 

 

So stoked and thankful to you all. I know that the only reason we were able to move along this journey without major battle wounds was because of you all. If I could, I'd hug ya'll who have lit the way for us. 

 

To the folks, with similar major "red flags" as ours, massive thanks for spending countless hours, days, weeks, years battling "the forces" and sharing your stories and knowledge here! I am eternally thankful to you! To the rest (moderators too!), thank you for keeping most of us hinged and offer your guidance and light. Thank you does not seem enough! 

 

Now for folks going through tough Embassies like ours -- if you are just starting out, I highly suggest searching the VJ and reading for several months before delving into the journey itself. Then once the ride starts, spend more time on facetime (time spent together), be truthful on all your dealing with officials and the rest will work out.

 

Oooooh, what to do with 15 days while waiting for hubby?

 

• Organizing cabinets, dressers and closets (gotta make room for him, huzzah!)
• Clean (hahaha!)
• Did I say organize already?

I am SO happy for you!!!!!  You must be incredibly excited every single moment---and will be until you finally lay eyes on him!!!

 

Cleaning and cleaning and cleaning....don't forget to pamper yourself a little bit in these extra moments as well---go get your nails done or something, go out and celebrate with friends and family

Ahhhhhh, I am so relieved and yes, I cannot wait to see him first thing in the morning and last thing at night and all the other moments in between.

I will splurge a bit right before he lands so that I am not looking like the Cryptkeeper (ya know the feller don't ya?!)  -- don't want to scare hubby back into the plane!

Awww thank you so much, feelings are mutual! 

 

I feel incredibly thankful (to our journey as well as all of you here) and somewhat guilty at times that we have made it while equally deserving couples will or are going through hard times.  Still, we have made it and will share emotional fist bumps with all of the couples who make it to the finishing line!

Yes true that! To think that we have cleared it all before we hit 12 months, with the insurmountable amounts of red flags (age difference, divorce, kid etc. etc. etc.), is a miracle! 

 

We have lost a month during the RFE and a month while he waited for his birth certificate and still got it done under 12 months -- gift of a lifetime!
