Hi!  tracking said our package got to texas the 28th. We picked a really crappy time to send it. Hopefully it wasn't too water damaged. Anyone know what the average wait time is? I heard is 3 months  between the I 129f and the next step.

I hope everything goes okay due to the hurricane! It took my 5 days to get my NOA1 (first receipt) but some people get them later and you should expect a delay due to the hurricane.

Hi August Peeps!

I paid a lawyer to handle our K1 process, I went to Taiwan on the 14th of this month and got a email from the lawyer saying NOA1 received and when I arrived back home this past Monday (5 days ago) The hard copy was in my mail. NOA1 has two dates on it , Received date August 7th and Notice date August 9th so I don't know which date to go by...Office address says California , but I thought it was Texas? lawyer mentioned something about texas before I sent him all the forms and evidence.

BTW, this is the 2nd time I filed a 129F , first time was 2005 and we were married for 11 years, now divorced of course. (cant file another petition unless previous marriage is dissolved legally)

Anyway, my name is Mike and Wilma is my Filipina fiancé currently living and working in Taiwan

Based on timelines I seen for Taiwan its NOA1-NOA2 is 4 months then interview 2 months after NOA2.

Hi Mike! Welcome to the group! :)

I hope I can help with some of the concerns you seem to have. :)

All petitions are mailed to the lockbox in Texas, but once they're opened and accepted, they get sent to one of the service centers. There is a service center in Texas, but most K1 petitions are sent to California now (or so I've read somewhere on this forum). Mine's there too! :)

Your NOA1 date is the one under "notice date" on the hard copy. I assume the received date is, well, when they physically received it lol. My received date is the 24th which is when it was delivered according to my tracking number.

If you don't mind me asking, how come you decided to have a lawyer handle this? I mean, since you went through the whole process before. Or did you do it like that the first time, too?

August 22, 2017 - I-129F mailed

March 16, 2018 - RFE response received

Hi Forke

Yes last time I did this I used an lawyer as well. I look at it like this. The lawyer has done this more times times than I have and I want to make sure its done correctly. By using a lawyer everything this is done right and your chances of getting a RFE are very low.

I looked on the NOA1 envelope and the stamped zip code is Phoenix Az , so I'm assuming the petition went to the lockbox in AZ and not TX?
