Keep in mind those of you like me that plan on being there when the interview takes place remember they will NOT let you the petitioner be present at the window, only the person needing the visa. If when they call his/her number and you walk to the window with them they will ask you to go back to your seat. Only the person needing the visa is allowed to be interviewed, I know it sucks, but it's part of their method to determine fake or real relationships.

I do plan to be there at the interview, in the waiting area, my fiancé will motion to the VO that I'm there when they ask her how many times he come to visit you. so the VO will know I'm sitting there.

That's really good to know. I was under the impression that we could do it together. I still plan on being there. Thanks!! I hope your process goes quickly. And yes...thank God for football season!

I don't think this is true for everyone, it depends on which embassy you will be interviewing at.  I was reading the reviews for the embassy and it seems like the petitioners were right there during the interview (for the embassy in Cuba).

Hi!!!

That's so exciting!! He lives in La Habana. I was planning to go again in October, but now think it may be better to go during the holidays. I am definitely traveling back for the interview as well! Where does your fiancé live?

I was thinking about visiting in October too!  He lives in Havana too, Cerro.

Nope. Only the person applying for the visa is present AT the interview window. People may have attended the "interview" with the fiance but I can bet you they weren't present at the time of questioning. This is the 2nd K1 petition by me and last time this was also the case and my attorney did tell me its still the same across the board. Only the person applying for the visa is present at time of questioning. I still plan to be there and let them know I'm there in case there are any issues and when she is approved I will walk up to the window and thank the VO in person.

If you are indeed allowed please post that info, I will do the same. Also no CELLPHONES or ANY recording devices allowed inside ! don't show up with your phone in your pocket they can deny you entry even in the waiting area. I plan to leave mine at the hotel then record our celebration. My lawyer said they just started this not allowing ANY gadgets that can record or take photos. So ask yourself is it worth it?...

I can verify this is 100% not the case at all embassies. I was present at my fiancee's interview a couple months ago. I was there at the window when the CO questioned my fiancee...standing right next to her side. The CO asked me a couple questions as well. There's many similar cases on VJ...it varies from embassy to embassy.

Yes!  This is why I am saying to read your consulate reviews on visajourney to get a better idea for the embassy, each embassy is different.

Like I said, it depends on the embassy. Some don't let anybody except the visa applicant inside the area. Some let you inside but not at the window/room. And some let you at the window. Even if you aren't allowed at the window (or even inside), what the beneficiary can do is present the petitioner's passport at the interview as proof they are currently there with them.

International Marriage Broker. I met my fiancee via OK Cupid. Back when I filed, they weren't asking for proof that OKC isn't an IMB (since it's well known in the US). But they got pretty strict with this around January and asked for this proof with any dating website more regularly. I sent their TOS and a letter from their support team stating they aren't an IMB along with a short description of what they are.

Did you provide any documentation on japancupid? Even if not, it's not a strict requirement...some people get an RFE and others don't (even some others that filed the same month as me who met via OKC didn't get an RFE, while a few others did)...gotta love the consistency, huh?.
