OP wasn't ask about speeding up the process. She only wanted to know if being pregnant will slow down or complicate the process for her.

Oh, I was more referring to a few members saying it doesn't slow down or speed up the process. Easy tiger.

As to it proving a marriage, definitely not. In other countries it may be perceived differently. In America children out of wedlock and with other people is pretty common.

It won't slow down your visa process but it could slow down a bit your POE. The child will need a passport so the dad will have to look into getting the child a us passport before you travel.

To get back to the OP's question....

 

You have the option of slowing down the process at the NVC (by delaying the sending of documents). You might want to consider this for various reasons:

 

- the medical. You will have to have a chest x-ray. You might want to wait until after the child is born before you do this. 

- traveling. It's uncomfortable and not a wise thing to do to fly long-haul while heavily pregnant if it can be avoided. 

- the cost of giving birth in the USA vs. your home country.
