Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS 

Your Case Status: Decision 

On March 31, 2017, we began reviewing your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, Receipt Number MSC*****. We mailed you a notice informing you of the action we intend to take on your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice and submit any requested materials. If you do not receive your notice by April 14, 2017, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address. 

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

Can someone please tell me what vague manner of sorcery is this? 

Why can't they just say what they're sending.... I've been reading on the internet and experiences vary widely.  Is it a denial? or approval or NOID , or RFE? Interview??

This is the first I am seeing any updates since the biometrics appointment in early December 2016. 

If anyone can give me some solid feedback I would appreciate it very much!  I'm trying not to worry but my nerves are wracked. sigh...

I think it's an rfe.. I might be wrong.. Because reading it closely it says to follow any actions they ask of you.. If it was a denial,  they will have told you right away.. Just keep calm till this notice arrives in the mail.. All the best

They are saying that it's a "Decision", meaning yes or no.... in all aspects except one it is identical to my approval notice. Your email has this: "We mailed you a notice informing you of the action we intend to take on your case". I hate to say it but to me that sounds like a Notice of intent to deny. If it's an approval they don't inform you that they intend to approve you, and if it's an RFE, they don't inform you of a "Decision".

That's generally the wording they use when they are going to deny the application based on what I've seen in the past. It sounds like a NOID.

 

They won't send details via email or text message as it's not considered a secure platform, and the online website is very easy for somebody else to lookup your case by receipt number (as I do for I-129Fs daily).

 

Please keep us updated when you get the hard copy.

Interview Result : AP , requesting another PC (not expired) and certified divorce decree (was submitted)Stokes interview via phone for petitioner 4 hrs after interview.

July 21, 2017 HOME VISIT.  Went well. Topic thread in AOS forum.
Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

Thanks for the input guys, I also think its an NOID, if so I'll definitely be contacting a lawyer.  No time for mistakes. 

 

If it is an NOID do you think that they didn't bother with an interview at all?

If it was an RFE, it would have stated that. It sounds like they may have sent him a "Notice of intention to deny" (NOID) ... 

Basically means that they need you to take a few extra steps before they give you a final decision
