Thank you @Estibaliz.  You have been helpful and a great source of information and encouragement for many of us here (Once you are done and settled I encourage you to start some sort of vlog to share your knowledge on the subject which def be helpful to many). I did search but found almost nothing from actual people from Ethiopia in this site.  As you suggested I checked the Ethiopian Embassy website  and has some useful information related to my question.

I'm more of a lurker than a poster, but....   Receive Date: 4/5/17 NOA1 Approval: 4/10/17 NOA2 Approval: 8/7/17   Just got it in the mail yesterday!

OMG I just got a notification on my app, we got our NOA2 just now!! It's nearly midnight and I was actually going to sleep but wanted to check something on my iPad and it popped up. So so happy.

Yes, she can go ahead and do the DS-160 and schedule interview if her embassy allows.  I don't know if her embassy allows you to schedule the interview or they have to do it.  Many times for the packets, you can get them online or email the embassy and they will send you the packet.  Has she done the medical and PCC?

Thank you :):)  .. Yes .. Patience and Positive thinking will get you thru this.  Looks like we have the option to schedule the interview online (something that we plan to do soon). She hasn't done the medical and PCC yet as we didn't get any documentation from NVC (or the US Embassy in Ethiopia) but will request that soon.  Thanks for the info and stay positive.  Yours will be next :)

Have to say I wasn't aware of all the info you could find at the travel.state.gov website. I assumed for some reason there was only general information there. I'll make sure to check that every time someone from less "popular" countries is looking for advice on the next steps.

Dear friends,

 

Question! I received our NVC case number this morning- checked the website, and our case status said just that the NVC had received our application. I wanted to check again to see if it was ready, but our case status page doesn't appear.

 

I also tried to start filling out the DS160 and wasn't able to finish...but didn't copy down our application ID number. The website won't let me start another application! I'm on hold with the NVC right now.

That was quick. Yours was sep 5 noa2 right? We tried calling we still don't have anyway. Prepare for the medical! 😊

Hmmm  that's interesting that both are not working. I'm sure you tried closing and reopening your browser. i used Chrome when I did it, but i don't think that matters whether you use Google Chrome or Internet Explorer.
