There was a 2/2 filer earlier as well. I just checked and 28 NOA2 in the past month went to people with NOA1s before 3/1, including some 2016 filers.

I'm surprised at the path they are taking.  Actually happy about it...... instead of moving forward with debris left on the cutting room floor - they seem to actually be committed to clearing debris - i wonder for how long?

If they're going to get beat up over processing times, it's going to be those old cases. That RFE one is really inexcusable, since it's proof that they never even touched the case for seven months -- can't blame background checks for that.

 

My guess is they're cleaning up the tail end so they can move the processing date in one big jump from Jan 1 to April 1, and then go back to saying 5-6 months is "normal processing times" and start over on the backlog. If they do that then it looks like they suddenly got better, rather than sucking for several months. As it stands March filers are just tiny bit shy of 60% NOA2s.

 

Man those people that filed summer of 2016 had it made, with 50 day processing times!

When I filed, it was up to 87 days, now bare minimum is 120 in 4 short months.  Backups change quickly when nothing being done that causes it.

I received my NOA2 yesterday! I wanted to reveal to my fiancee on Skype first before letting everyone else in on it. She couldn't believe I hadn't even opened the envelope to peek until this afternoon.

thank you!  the 2go guys in our province texted me that they have it already.  unfortunately, i'm on vacation so they can't deliver it at home and just give to my sister since i did not leave an authorization letter.  oh well, i'll be home tomorrow so i can pick it up from the office.  woohooo!

 

how's your application going?  I really hope you'll get yours soon.  everything's just a breeze after the NOA2.  though each passing day was a drag, it was all worth it.  

 

btw, during the interview, the consul said that she liked it when the petitioner accompanies the beneficiary.  interview was on the 1st (tuesday), petition got issued on the 2nd (wednesday) at about the afternoon, and i got an email from the ustraveldocs on friday that they have already sent my passport through 2go.  it was just surreal when you get to the finish line.
