Hi everyone. Just getting really upset here. We are in the forum of Feb AOS filers, and our packet arrived in Chicago on the 10th. Others in the group had their packages arrive days after us, and already have their notifications. We do not. We sent in e notification forms and everything. We can't check the status of the money because it was a money order, and it takes 30 days to check. So we are sitting here with no idea why we haven't heard anything. That packet, as you all know, was expensive and has a lot of personal information. We have no idea what's going on and why someone who's packet got there days after ours, would already be notified. We are pretty much freaking out.

You tracked it - you know it arrived. Security will not tell you who signed for it - they get 100s a day if not more.

Welcome to "Hell & Anxiety game" ..... if like me, you hear nothing then open up your letter box to find a letter, it was 22 days for receipt. The process date was close to "arrived" date.

You should not be concerned, just wait to enjoy which servie center you get, then the game really begins ....welcome and prepare to reach anxiety levels associated with a process you will remember for the rest of your life,,,, well maybe 3 years after this all finishes!

Why would you need to send it again because his visa expires? You married within 90 days, that suffice the purpose of the K1 visa.

Just not sure about when to start panicking lol

After 30 days pal. Well we had the issue when we filed for I-130, We later disccussed that my wife forgot to add the I-130 petition form. They return the packet to us requesting we add the form and resend the packet. SO THAT MIGHT BE A POSSIBILITY

I know it's worrying and when we start comparing to each other's timeline, we start to panic. It's what I did. I was also worried because I mailed the package on Feb 10th, and the people who sent the package at the same time as me already received their NOA1. I JUST received it and it is 12:30 am. Like everyone said, there is a holiday, take a deep breath, I bet you'll get it this week =).

AOS

2/10/2017 -> AOS Package (I-485, I-864, I-765, I-131) mailed to Chicago Lockbox by USPS

2/21/2017 -> NOA1 received through text and email!

2/23/2017 -> Physical NOA1 received for all three

3/02/2017 -> RFE (initial evidence) received, needed to send 2016 tax return (filed after package was sent out)

3/10/2017 -> Biometrics letter received.

3/24/2017 -> Biometrics appointment scheduled.

4/29/2017 -> EAD/AP card received. =)

waiting game begins.....

I didn't receive my NOA1 until they had received it, cashed the check, and it was assigned to a service centre.  My delivery date was full of people with notifications from 3 days to 3 weeks, so don't panic.  It's important not to get all panicked and worried at this early point or you'll go insane at the rest of the process.  I would say once you reach 2 weeks from when it should have been received there, give them a call.

My NOA1 was 24th March, I received email notification of such on the 31st March, and received the hardcopy 11th April.

Got married: 26th Sep 2013

I-130 Petition Process:

Sent petition to USCIS Chicago lockbox (via in-laws to put check in US$): 11 Mar, 2016

NOA1: 24 Mar, 2016 (email notification 30 Mar. Hardcopy 11 Apr)

Service Centre: NEBRASKA

NOA2: 3rd Aug 2016

Petition sent to NVC: 18th Aug 2016

NVC Stage

Case number assigned: 8th Sep 2016

Paid AOS Fee: 9th Sep 2016

Paid IV Fee: 14th Sep 2016

DS-260 submitted: 25th Jan 2017

AOS & IV Package sent: 25th Jan 2017

Expedite requested: 25th Jan 2017

Expedite approved (consulate only): 1st Feb 2017

Scan Date: 31st Jan 2017

Case Complete: 14th April 2017 (10 weeks 4 days)

Full expedite approved (bypass NVC to send file to embassy), however too late as I already had case complete 17th Apr 2017

Case arrived at Embassy: 21st April 2017

P4 letter received: 26th April 2017 (expedite at embassy stage so this came from the consulate, not NVC)

Medical date: 26th April 2017

Interview date: 4th May 2017 APPROVED!!

Visa received: 8th May 2017

POE (entered the USA): 15th May 2017

Don't get fixated by other peoples timelines, each and every case is completely different, you may think your case is simple and easy, but they are all different.

For an example CR-1/IR-1 were quoted at 9-12 months......................my simple and easy case took 15 months, due to 'lost' paperwork.

You will need to learn the art of patience, this is the most frustrating process known to man!

We have a similar case maybe ppl can give advice.  My husband and I filed our AOS in April and have yet to get an interview.  Should we be concern? what should we do.  We live in the DC area and I've seen both others getting interviews AND processing dates past our date.

You filed in April 2016? Have you gotten the ready to be scheduled  for an interview or just not heard anything?

Yeah but you still got your NOA1 in 7 days. Today marks 14 days so makes us think something is wrong with the packet.

If you are really that worried you can go ahead and call the USCIS. I seen people on this forum before who got their NOA1 MSC number through the phone before the hard copy came in.
