Thanks! Yes, I will be going back as soon as we have the interview date set up. At our Consulate (Nairobi), it takes about 2-3 months from the day you book to the actual date of the appointment. They oversee 4 (maybe more) countries in East Africa, so they are really backed up.

But, that will give me a couple more months in the Pearl of Africa to be with my beloved in-laws and enjoy the slow pace of village life before coming back to the rush of the USA.

Where is your spouse from? And how long does it take to get an interview?

That is awesome! Which country are you from?

I know you must be anxiously awaiting that day, to be with your sweetie again.

That sounds like you will have a nice time while waiting for the interview.

My husband is from the Dominican Republic, i will just go there the week of his interview, unfortunately i cant stay longer then that. I am not sure how long the time frame is from NVC to the interview, i just want to get through this part!! lol

Checked this morning and my case got TRANSFERRED out of this hell hole of a service center!!! Not sure where we were sent, but it doesn't matter because anything will be quicker then this place!  Beyond excited to see some sort of movement. 5 months 1 week.  Still waiting but it seems like something is starting to happen! :)

Yay!! Thats great!! Congrats to you! Hopefully things will pick up for you now :)

Oh yes, i completely understand. Well, hang in there. I know it isn't easy, but hopefully for everyone in this process, once it is completed, we never have to part from our loves ever again. "Who Jah bless, no man curse." Nah so? ?

Who Jah bless, no man curse :D

Thanks for putting a smile on my face with our Jamaican slang..

You are so right once this whole ordeal is over we will never have to separated from our loved ones again

Approaching 200 days of waiting for approval at Nebraska by next week; timeline says approval could come within the next week. Looks like 7 months will be the new average at Nebraska here very soon. If in just a few months time they have gone from 5 up to 7 months, I can only see it getting more backed up as the weeks go on. People just now applying could be in for 9+ months at this rate.

At Nebraska's current rate, you have at least two months to go. However, in a couple of months, and the way Nebraska comes to a complete standstill many times, further slowing down the process, you could very well have about 3 months left to wait. Not to bring anybody down, just trying to be realistic. When Nebraska was approving at a steady rate of 5 months a few months ago, I thought for sure by the time they reached my petition I would be approved by Christmas. Valentine's Day is next week, and haven't heard a word uttered from Nebraska. Approaching 7 months on average, so who knows how slow they will be in a couple months from now. Just plan on 3 months and be pleasantly surprised if Nebraska can somehow get their act together and at least manage to get back to processing only a bit slower than their previous pace.

USCIS not updating their field office processing times (still showing last updated November 30, 2016) is getting on my nerves!!!

?????????

They usually update the processing times the 15th of every month.

November 30th isn't the last time it was updated, it's the date they used to have "accurate" timelines with sufficient data.    Anyway, USCIS is always behind schedule :(

196 days and counting! Wahoo Nebraska! About to hit the big 200 this weekend. It is exciting to see petitions with case numbers around mine being approved. Hoping this means approval is close for me. Any day now...

Those who are just now applying, just get settled in and enjoy the ride. 7+ months of waiting coming your way.

Today, I received an email from USCIS that my case paperwork has been shipped from USCIS (to NVC). I guess it takes a few weeks between NOA2 approval from USCIS and NVC receiving paperwork owing to the fact that USCIS mails paperwork in batches and sends then once a week or so.

Priority date: July 29th, 2016
NOA2 approval: Jan 31, 2017
Paperwork leaving USCIS to NVC: Feb 14, 2017

Good luck to everyone!
