Does the Police Certificate In Sweden that the NVC accepts is that the one that's available in 5 languages? Because the only other options for "Translation Aids" is for other European Countries within the EU only. But the original Police certificate is in 5 languages one is English but there are others and I know how much USCIS and NVC hate anything that's not in English. Have other people found this police certificate accepted? Is this the correct one? Is there another one I should have gotten? Thanks so much.

That’s the same certificate we submitted to NVC and it got accepted.

You could call them and ask. Also, it will cost more if you need shots and/or blood test to see which shots you have had.

I went ahead and got the only shot I knew I needed at my local vårdcentral and then brought the proof to the medical. That way I didn't need any shots and was sure that my medical would be marked as "complete" (maybe more important for a K-1/AOS, not sure).

The price difference was pretty big between the two clinics back in 2016. I paid 2800kr i Gbg, including the x-rays. In Sthlm people paid ~3400kr and then another 500kr for the x-rays. I know GBG has become more expensive, Sthlm probably has too.

Thanks so much I appreciate it :)

You can check which documents are needed and where you can get them from here https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Sweden.html

To me it looks like you got the correct one. NVC doesn't care if it has other languages on it as long as English it on there

Here is the medical exam instructions https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/STK-Stockholm.html#medical_exam_instructions I'm not sure how much it costs but it will probably say on the physicians' websites, you will pay it at the medical appointment

Thank you this eases my mind and anxiety I appreciate it very much :)

Does anyone know if at the TIME of the interview and DAY you have to pay any type of fee? I've already paid the fees on the NVC website but I was wondering if there anymore and my husband will be surprised to get a shock if they ask him for a bunch of money on the day of interview at the embassy?

I got vaccination records from when I was a kid that I'll bring to the medical. I also plan to print a doctor's note from when I had chicken pox a couple of years ago, in case that will matter in getting a vaccination for that or not. Then I'll just get the ones that I need while I'm there. 😇

And wow... the prices sure has gone up... 5000 for the medical and 600 for the x-rays in Stockholm, and I'll need at least one shot. But I live here so it's probably still more beneficial for me to go here than having to travel to Gothenburg.

And oh... If I have the medical March 2nd and the interview March 12th I should be fine, right?

That's the appointment they gave me when I emailed them, and I mentioned in the email when my interview is, so... 😶

My husband finally received his passport back, 12 days after his interview. Fair warning to all others when waiting on their package from Stockholm, you may have to chase it down. No notice ever arrived in his mailbox, he had to call the local Joker store that holds packages for pickup in his small village, and they confirmed that they had had it in their possession for a few days. 🙄

All’s well that ends well though, he has booked his flight and will be here next week. Cheers! 🥳

No, there is nothing asked the day of. When you receive your passport back, you will get information on how to pay the $220 green card fee, which should be done anytime before US entry.

Anything goes, really. I had my medical 3 days before the interview. The other K-1 applicant who was interviewed that day had an appointment for his medical a week after the interview.

The only thing that happens is that they can't issue your visa until the get the medical report.

Could anyone help me in giving me advice on where to go to access Vaccination certificates and/or get them in English? Thanks so much.

I don’t think you need them in English, since you’ll be having the medical in your country done by a Swedish doctor who will just mark off your results of whether you have the vaccines or not for the embassy. So I believe having them just in Swedish is fine, to show to the doctor

I brought my yellow book from vårdcentralen. It’s not in English and was fine. I did get a tetanus shot at the clinic after my medical exam. Cost of 300SEK

I appreciate the help I do. But I was looking for my kid's (who are American Citizens) something to bring thats officalish? To bring to America Elementary schools. Because you cant enroll your kids till they have a vaccine certificate thats signed by a doctor. Does anyone know of something similar in Sweden? Thanks so much.

Hi Scandis with upcoming interviews, I emailed Stockholm consulate today to ask if they are requiring DS5540 at interviews since the public charge rule that went into place Feb 24 and they said they are now requiring it. Just a heads up!
