I read the same thing in other posts... if you get an interview it's much faster than getting the interview waived. I really wonder why that is... you'd think it'd be much easier and faster if it gets waived.

I'm still waiting for the marriage certificate... it's "recorded" but the certificate isn't ready yet :/

I think it's because they have to verify that marriages are Bona Fide, so an interview has to be done to make sure it wasn't just to evade immigration laws. I really prefer 1000x more to get an interview. I really don't want to wait a year.

Just got notified that we will have our AOS interview on February 1st, in Detroit. Was hoping for no interview, but at least we'll have sooner rather than later.

how long does it take normally to get a returned package back?

And whom should i put in 'payable to' on the check?

Around 14 days they send it back by snail mail.

Look at the guides. "Department of homeland security"

I'd totally prefer for my family to get scheduled for the interview as well if it does speed up the processing :)

09/02/2016- Sent AOS Paperwork to Chicago lockbox (I-485, I-765, I-131)

09/05/2016- Paperwork received by Chicago lockbox

09/08/2016- NOA1 Texts Received

09/10/2016- NOA1s received in the mail

09/24/2016- Received biometrics letter in the mail for October 3, 2016

09/30/2016- Biometrics completed (walk-in, Tukwila)

10/01/2016- Notice of Request for Initial Evidence via text (I-485)

10/06/2016- Received RFIE in the Mail for I-864, Sent back response

10/12/2016- RFIE Received by USCIS

10/25-26/2016- Approval and Card Being Produced for EAD/AP

11/04/2016- Case Status changed to 'Case is Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview'

11/07/2016- Case Status changed to ' Card was Mailed To Me'

The doctor only gave her the sealed envelope which she gave to the embassy during K-1 Interview.

I guess we should've requested a copy to keep.. darn

We didn't get a copy either, but called the doctor and they scanned and emailed them to my wife. Could you try that?

10/02/2015: CEAC status changed to "In Transit"

10/09/2015: Consulate acknowledged receipt via phone; Hardcopy from US DoS with case number.
10/19/2015: Received information from Consulate.
10/28/2015: Medical Exam
11/17/2015: Interview...rescheduled due to computer problems. New date as yet unknown.
11/18/2015: Called in for interview and APPROVED!

11/24/2015: Picked up visa/passport and sealed packet from the Consulate! <happy dance>

We sent in our documents today. We held our civil marriage ceremony on August 18th after a POE on August 13th. Hoping for a quick NOA1 in a week or so!

Congrats on your NOA's!!!!

If you live close to the ASC, I recommend doing a walk-in for Bios when you get it. I have always been able to do walk-ins, and I live 2 hours away lol

Unfortunately we don't but my husband might take the day off so we can get it done he has to take me.
