Just got off the phone with an immigration officer via USCIS' 1-800 number, the California Service Center office is currently processing petitions received in January 2016. The officer (who was SUPER SUPER SUPER kind and helpful) told me that I may have to expect to wait around 120 day or less (my petition was received in May 2016).

btw. being an Indonesian and having lived in Asia, Africa and Australia I can't get over how efficient are the U.S. immigration officers. From what I experience in the last 2 days, everyone was SUPER kind, polite, helpful and knows what they're doing. Really, God bless America.

good luck for all. Enjoy your summer (or winter if anyone here in Australia!)

xo

Good to see a lot of same same couples approved! We waited over six months for or NOA2 and have no idea why ours took so much longer than most. No RFE's . It was the longest hardest six months of our lives. We got our NOA 1 in November and just got our NOA 2 May 27. Got our NVC number today!! With that number can we start the online process to book the interview or do we have to wait for the file to arrive at the UK embassy?

Unless it's done differently in the UK, you should wait until the embassy receives your file before booking an appointment.

Definitely wait until the embassy has received your file before trying to book an appointment, but you should be able to book your medical now using the NVC number. Best to call up and get that done ASAP, depending on the country you can have a wait of several weeks for a medical appointment.
