I punched in all the required information to see if I could submit an e-request to find out more about my i-751 removal of conditional green card and I was told........

Your application or petition is currently within the posted processing times. An inquiry may not be created at this time

I am very frustrated....

hi

why did you think it was outside normal processing time?

the process takes from 6 months to a year, have you been waiting over a year?

if not, then it is within normal processing time, and that's why you have the extension letter for a year

VSC (the center mentioned in your timeline) is processing applications from June 2015 per their processing times chart. Only if your receipt date was earlier than June 2015, you can consider it's outside normal processing times.

Hello everyone,

I have an I-751 case pending dated June 22nd 2015. I called USCIS customer service today and I was given the answer that due to backlog, cases can take up to 1-1.5 years to get approval done. The officer (not a customer service) informed me that currently USCIS Vermont Service Center is processing June 1st cases and earlier (the same information that I can find online).

I am interested in finding out more about getting a Senator to assist with my case and I have read a case on here that has been "miraculously" approved after Senator's intervention.

I live in New York City.

Do you have anyone to recommend?

I googled and the top 2 that came up were Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer.

Appreciate your help!

If you are in New York, then Schumer and Gillibrand are your two Senators (there are only two per state). I can't say whether one or the other's offices are more effective, but I have seen posts on here that Gillibrand's office was very helpful. I have not specifically seen any posts about Schumers office.

Good Luck!

The ability of a congressperson or senator to help is a bit limited when your petition is not past the published case time frame. It can be invaluable if your case is past the published time though. Also you might find your representative is quicker to help you than a senator. A senator had many more constituents to assist, than the representative. I would suggest contact both one senator and your representative. I did the same when my wife's AOS went past the published time frame. The senatorial office's actions lagged behind the representatives by 3 weeks.

I contacted both Grace Meng and Schumer few years ago, Meng got me the combo card, Don't remember hearing anything back from Schumer's office . Ironically , his NYC office is right above my office.

Hi Everyone,

I am a June 2015 filer. As of Jun 20th, my case is still pending. I have traveled outside the country and returned before the date of the notice on I-751.

After reading what other members have done, I decided to do the followings,

-Submitted an inquiry. I received the notification right away,

Thank you for your request:
USCIS will review and process the request
Expect a reply by July 9, 2016
Your request ID number is SR#######3527VSC

-Contacted my senator for assistance with the case.

Specifically Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. I filled out and signed the form available online. Sent a copy of my I-751 and a copy of my greencard.

A day later, I received a response from Senator Kirsten.

Dear Mr. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX,

I appreciate you taking the time to bring this immigration matter to my attention. I know that this matter is very important to you.

In an effort to be of assistance, I have brought the information you presented to the attention of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. I have requested a review of this matter and a written response from the agency.

As soon as I receive a response, I will contact you again.

Is there anything else that I need to do? I just want to get the answer.

Nope. You made the right move in contacting your senator! :) Now you should expect to see your case move forward relatively quickly.

(Although I am disappointed that the senator's letter had "you" instead of "your" in its first line.) :(

Hi everyone, I am an I-751 June 2015 filer. I was thinking that my approval will come after 6 months but unfortunately it has been 1 year since and I still have not heard anything back from USCIS.

I decided to contact my local senator to find out more information about my case and today I got a response from the senator office.

Case Number: 5#####

Dear Mr. &&&&&&&&&&:

Thank you for contacting my office with your matter. I have contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on your behalf.

According to USCIS, "Thank you for sending our office your inquiry for your constituent, @@@@@@ %%%%%%, in regard to Form I-751, Receipt Number EAC152###### and card producing Form CR-I89, Receipt Number EAC151######.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services computer systems show that your constituent's petition or application is still pending consideration. The processing of the petition or application has been delayed. All petitions and applications received by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services are required to have routine security checks. This is resulting in delays of the adjudication of petitions and applications. We have no control over how long these security checks will take; therefore, we cannot determine when they will be completed."

I understand your frustration with this delay. However, I cannot expedite or waive the clearances required to complete the processing of your case.

I hope this information will be of help to you and that your matter is resolved promptly. If I can be of further assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact my office again.

So this means that I am still not done with my security check yet?

Did other member(s) have the same reply from USCIS?
